Super Bowl Dress Rehearsal Update II - CAUTION SPOILER
Posted by: autodog ()

It is with my hat in my hand and my head bowed low that I approach the group with a most sincere apology. "Kurt" is correct. Jumpin' Jack Flash was not played during the dress rehearsal. As I mentioned last evening I had stopped for a few cold ones on my way home and upon arriving I was eager to share with everyone my experience at the Super Bowl Halftime Show dress rehearsal.

I am very sorry to say that the setlist that I posted in my Super Bowl Dress Rehearsal post of earlier this morning was indeed incorrect. It was a innocent mistake and by no means an attept to BS anyone. As soon as I awoke this morning and cleared my head of the aftermath of a night of driking I realized my mistake.

Before I continue I want to clear something up. I was never told by anyone connected with the half time production team that the setlist was to be kept secret. I would never have revealed the setlist if I had been asked not to. We were told that the stage is to be kept secret and I have honored that request. I have said NOTHIBG at all about the set design and I will not say anymore about it. We were not asked/told that the setlist was to remain secret. I hope that "with sssoul" can sleep at night now that her fears have been addressed. Jojolapoo, I read your post and all I can say is....SHUT THE f*CK UP. I think I just heard the stones tell you to bite this <pointing to her crotch>.

FOLLOWING IS THE CORRECT SET LIST

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE HALFTIME SET LIST STOP NOW

...CAUTION SPOILER...CAUTION SPOILER...CAUTION SPOILER...CAUTION SPOILER...

In order...Start Me Up followed by Rough Justice followed by (can't get no) Satisfaction.

Again, I sincerley apologize for my screw up

One time you were my baby chicken
Now you've grown into a fox
And once upon a time I was your little rooster
Am I just one of your cocks?

I wonder if the censors will let this verse pass.

It may be a one second bleep, which may intrigue some viewers unfamiliar with RJ. They may buy it hoping he really said "motherf***er"

Speaking of censors..........I've been looking at various Stones message boards. Apparently, a person will nearly be shot at dawn if the setlist is "leaked". Has anyone here heard about that silliness?
Imagination.

"Pass it on" (Keith talking about the music)

It's allright, autodog!
Nice that you share it. One song incorrect? No big deal. What IS important is that you had a good friday-night!
Allright!

One should be shot for NOT sharing the info. That's why we're on these boards!

Where does Aretha fit in on this set?

Aretha Franklin did not appear on stage with the Stones during this dress rehearsal at all. I also mentioned in an earlier post thet there are two rather rickety staircases/ladders that the band will assend up to the stage. There is no way in hell that Aretha Franklin will be able to get up these steps.

Thanks, autodog. I love it -- the old and the new right there in a nutshell.

Fantastic choices -- no complaints from here. (thumbs UP)

Who really cares? It will be an embarrasing 3 songs, so lets just hope one is good like RJ. I wish someone else played at superbowl not the Stones, because what next, Vegas act?

johang is one of the obsessive trolls that pollute the air. At one time, I actually posted a tongue-in-cheek tribute to this lower-class species. They exist by swallowing their own sh*t, but pollute the air by spewing some of it into their surroundings. They, like cockroaches, will always be here, so we just have to turn on the lights and make them scuttle into their corners.

SMU is perfect for the venue...RJ is the best one off of ABB for this show...and well...if ya don't like Satisfaction as the ending, ya just don't understand shit about the Stones and the importance of their signature song!

I'm soooo ready for a kickass 12 minutes!!!

Mick figured this would be a good oppourtunity to bust out "Turn the Girl Loose" off of his critically acclaimed, and rightly so, solo album 'She's The Boss'. When he suggested it to the band, Charlie said nothing - nothing unusual there. Ron began to say something but then Mick cut him off - saying "Shut up Ronnie, you do what I tell you to do and when I tell you to do it!". Keith then said "It's great to be here, it's great to be anywhere!". With that, Mick knew he was in the clear. He then decided it would be better to move Chuck to the front of the stage and move the guitarists to the back. Then, they decided to throw in "Winning Ugly". Mick felt it was appropriate. When he suggested it to Keith, his reply was "Ehhhhh hhhhhhhhhh *puuuuuhhhh*". Chuck could hardly contain his excitement. Then, "Jumping Jack Flash" was thrown in for good measure. Oh, and to clear something up - you've all been hearing about potential special guests being on stage with the band? Well, expect Sunday to be Matt Clifford's return to playing live with the greatest rock and roll band in the world.

...yeah, I'm having Insomniac here. I apologize.

Oh well, I forgot, there seem to be some some mystic about the set list, Stones is keeping it a secret, I mean give me a break... Start me Up and Satisfaction a big secret... I will quieltly leave the room at half time not to be embarrest by my friends saying "oh no not those old songs again don't they know anything else"...

IT WILL ROCK!!!!!!! I'm SO fired up for this thing. I was looking forward to the last song, which was incorrect in the first post. I don't think it's a shame with the "new" last song though. If people say that it's a cool revamped tune on this tour, then I believe them. I'm gonna shit my pants when I see it for sure.

Yeah wow, Matt Clifford is the special guest? I am so exited. I always liked his way to dress, his hair style and his pure rock´n´roll attitude. Remember him playing the Start Me Up riff 89/90 and the harp on Miss You? That were Rock´n´Roll history highlights.

I hope they do 12 minutes Midnight Rambler with Matt Clifford playing the electric harp on his keyboard. Sound so cool !!!! lol

The Matt Clifford "harp" weren't all that bad on Miss You 1989/1990.

Clifford playing Jagger's harp line with the synth is the lowest point in Stones' history.
