She's got such a wonderful voice and works as a backup singer to a bunch of old guys from England, while the likes of Celine, Brittany, Mariah, Pink etc. rack up big bucks. Just got a boot of her singing on "Night Time" (thanks, kienan) and it's terrific!

She gets to sing with Mick and the boys through the tour and show eveybody she rules so I think she has got more lucky than Las Vegas Celine. Money is not the same as success. And wathing her on the transition rom Night Time (great) into Gimme Shelter (fantastic) is the proof that nobody comes close. Not Celine. Not Madonna. Not any babes. No nobody. Actually during Gimme Shelter in Boston I was wondering: If Lisa is not there - who could replace her on Gimme Shelter? Like who could replace Bobby Keys on Brown Sugar? Like Tim is great but did not work as a replacement in Europe. We are lucky to have 13 world-standard musicians on stage!

It's not as good as being a solo star, but it beats the heck out of being mostly unknown and working in bars. Or not working at all. 99% of all people who aspire to be a singer are in one of those last two categories. As far as backup singing gigs go, the Stones has to be one of the best, if not the best. And she is a little more than a backup singer, since she gets a chance to duet with Mick on a song or two.

I agree Bjørnulf. I can't believe these phoney-poser-babes is really happy with themselves. They make a lot of money, so they have to keep it up, but it's phoney-baloney. If I was a female singer I rather be Lisa Fisher than the other women mentioned here.

Well.............I say we loose all the back -ups on stage. This is what makes the Stones a Vegas Act on auto pilot IMO.

I agree. It would be awesome to see the four Stones tour with just Bobby Keys, a bass player (not Darryl) and a keyboardist (not Chuck).

So you want 5 guys on stage only. How about Brown Sugar? No saxophone? And Memory Motel? No keyboards? And Gimme Shelter? ...

the sad truth is: since 1989 its impossible for the rolling stones to play a live concert without back up singers and a big horn section !!

In fact the Stones have been 6 - six - from the very start in 1962. Ian Stewart was the 6th Stone and he was on keyboards from the very start. A band without keyboards and bass is not the Stones.

As much as Bobby and Lisa etc are integral members of the band, I still maintain that the best version Ive heard of Brown Sugar in the last 30 years was the one they did at the press conference last May - when the only non-Stone onstage was Darryl Jones

Not sure if they have the chops and energy to sustain a stripped down show for 2 hours for a year long tour though

It is different to perform for a small press crowd and crazy city fans gathering at a square for the first time in two years compared to a long tour. Mick could have dropped his pants at the press conference and made the biggest reaction, but he could not do that all through the tour. When they bring the show on to the big crowds they need a wider musical spectrum.

Hey Gazza - howzabout a tour with the 5 of them - just 3 songs on a night on the b-stage. You kind of drop by the venue for an after-dinner drink a couple o' tunes.....

Yes, of course it would be very INTERESTING if there were only 5 people on stage. The same way it would be very interesting if they played Winter, Gomper, Jig-Saw Puzzle & other "rare" songs. But it wouldn't work, would it? Some artist can change it all with a success, like Bob or Bruce. But the Rolling Stones needs other musicians to deliver a great show. At least now, in the 2000s.
Everytime I listen to a recent bootleg, I think "why is Chuck playing all the time", "why do they alway play these warhorses" or "do they need backup-singing on Tumbling Dice". But it is just a trick of the mind, or a escaping on the run, and a lack of "obscurity" on the CD I'm listening too. But, when I'm at an actual show I don't think these things, I'm just amazed how GREAT it really is.

She's doing the best job in the world! Can you imagine Celine Dion (grrrrrr) onstage with the Stones? I can't and don't want to either!

She is an awesome singer and a sweetheart in person.

Hey Potted. I watched Gimme Shelter from Ladies and Gentlemen and then from 4 Flick. The band is more intense and MT is increbible in 72. But w/ Lisa it adds an extra something that makes it special.

i agree lisa is fantastic on gimme shelter, we cant always get what we want but i would love to see keith singing on the same mic as mick on torn and frayed...wow wish i could

She gets her spotlight back tonight with Night Time

i could easily do without Lisa's overdone screaming....
