Anybody see a picture of that new guy they've got for the next Bond movie? He looks NOTHING like Bond should.

Ever read the books? Fleming's character is most often described as being "cruel" aand "ruthless" looking.

Craig has got those qualities in spades--much more imporant than his hair color.
I'm excited about him playing the part because I think it commits them to a tougher, more gritty direction.

As for Sean vs. Roger, it's easy to forget just how good Moore could be at his best, as in "The Spy Who Loved Me," "For Your Eyes Only," and "Octopussy" as well as parts of his earlier films. Of course, Connery defined the role in "From Russia With Love," but Roger did a different and underappreciated spin on it as well...

And lets's not forget George Lazenby either. A very credible performance from a novice actor--and arguably the best overall Bond film in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service."

Daniel Craig looks like the Bond described in the books by Ian Fleming. (minus the blond hair) IMO he will be one of the better Bonds. Check out the movie "Layer cake." Carrottop is not a bad chose by the way.

I've read some of the Fleming books, and there are a whole lot of differences between them and the movies. I prefer the movie versions, myself.

Sean I´m afraid.

But Moore is the coolest elsewhere
in the Saint plus The Persuaders.

If I found some soundtrack to this,
I´ll post it at thread side.

the cold/cruel Bond, that Rev Robert W, describes,
and which Fleming depicts, is best portrayed on the silver screen, by Connery.

Timothy Dalton, also did a credible job, portraying him, as a dark, bitter man.

The best book is a close call, between "Casino Royale" and "O.H.M.S.S".

I'm pleased they've finally, had the balls, to get round to making a decent version of "Casino Royale"- though i'm not sure if Daniel Craig is the man for the job. My choice would have been Dougray Scott.

Connery all the way, Moore is funny and his films are of course more modern in a way but in another way theyre not. He is acting Bond, Connery is Bond. Moore is also the father of the Swedish Princess Madde.

You sure J.J.? I heard rumours of Pauly Shore...lol grinning smiley

But to answer the question: I like 'em both. I grew up with Roger Moore as Bond, but they're both good in that role IMO.

ROGER MOORE IS THE BEST ACTOR EVER AND THE BEST BOND.

Pity, another thread too old to be displayed... I brought this on about 18 months ago or so. It got some nice reactions from people who thought they were they only one for Stones and Bond...

Recapitulating for my opinion:

Best movie in general: The Spy Who Loved Me
Best movie to reflect contemporary culture: Live and Let Die
Best music/soundtrack: Live and Let Die
Best villain: Karl Stromberg
Best bondgirl: Barbara Bach
Best Bond: Roger Moore (well, most enjoyable, anyway)
Best gimmick: The suitcase from From Russia With Love
Best story: On Her Majesties Secret Service ("Is everything alright sir?" "Yes, she's just having a little sleep...")
Best settings: Octopussy
Best pre-soundtrack scene: For Your Eyes Only

To be honest, I don't like the Brosnan movies too much. Not only don't I like Brosnan, but the Bond-feeling is off. And those are the only ones I've seen in the cinema... As I've never seen those more then once, I can't tell one from another. But the last one with Halle Berry. I don't know. The jetset nouveau rich atmosphere sucks... And the invisible car was way outta line. And Mick Taylor is gone... Oh no that was Q.

the invisible car schtick, was the major downer in "Die Another Day"- ridiculous.
I also, don't like John Cleese, in the latest Bond movies....
i keep expecting him to shout for Manuel, or goose-step through a scene.

As for Bond being English, I believe his Father was English and his Mother was German.

Connery was great...........

but the wig in later Bond movies was terrible............he needed..........

HAIR IMPLANTS.....

Well, must be Connery. Moore's appearance 'softened' the character of Bond too much for me.
