As someone from L.A., I have no particular love for either Chicago/the United Center or NYC/Madison Square Garden. However, I saw the Stones at the United Center in April of '98 and at Madison Square Garden earlier this week (on Wednesday) ... I was surprised by how small and initmate MSG is. It is the older style of American basketball/hockey arena. The United Center on the other hand has so many levels and the seats are so steeply banked that you feel as though you're inside of a grain elevator (not that I would no how that feels) ... just my two cents

Exactly...
The U.C. is actually a "mini-stadium"... there's just a QUANTITY of noise and chaos there that isn't found at most other arenas. From behind the main stage to the highest nosebleeds, the place rocks like a domed stadium when the Stones are playing.

I've always liked the banked seats like that. That way, the person in front of you has to be hella tall in order for him to block your view.
