I'd bet a fair amount that even if you can't stand Bon Jovi records, you would like their live concerts... great live band, even back when they were touring as an unknown opener you knew they were going places.

Ace Frehley was @#$%& amazing. Listen to the lead work on Speedin back to my baby, from his 78 solo album, Or Deuce or Love Gun or countless others. Some folks here are far too precious and I bet half of those who lambasted Kiss have never played those early albums. Oh and Kiss Alive was not remade in the studio. I know Ace screwed up and was absent from a lot of the later 70s recordings but that does not diminish his achievements

My votes are for the guy from The Bay City Rollers, The dude that plays guitar in the song Sugar Sugar and THE GOD himself Mathijs

I really hate to say this... know I'm gonna get pelted with alot of flames for it... and I wouldn't say the guy is the "worst" player by any means... I just never really got into much of his music, and his style never was that interesting... but before I put the name out there you gotta say that in one way or another every major guitarist of every major band made a contribution... whether you like Kiss or not or Bon Jovi or not or ______ or not, their guitarists were inherent part of the teamwork and success... my pick for least interesting: Jeff Beck.

Alvin Lee.

In general, English lead guitarists are the worst. They don't understand that less is more, and Alvin Lee is the epitomy of bad English guitarists.

Keith's solos are not "minimalist." They are soulful in the manner of Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, and B.B. King. Keith doesn't turn his solos into road races to see who can go fastest.

BTW, I think Mick Taylor started to suffer from EGPS (English Guitar Player's Syndrome) toward the end of his career with the Stones. He was racing and not playing on songs like "If You Can't Rock Me."

I also don't care for Jimmy Page, athough I appreciate how he inspired to makers of "Spinal Tap" to create such a funny movie.

I agree with you, another guy that can play every note flawlessly and fast but in the end it justs sounds boring to my ears.

EDDIE VAN HALEN SUCKS??????????You must be JOKING! I am not even a huge fan of Van Halen but that boy can play! It's a pretty well accepted fact that he is a great guitar player, even though you may not love the material.

I cant stand them and saw them opening for the Stones in Paris in 1995. they were hideous and cheesy beyond belief

The only place I wished they were going that day was into the river Seine

I agree,I think Ace is a great player.Kiss Alive however was heavily overdubbed,I had the pleasure of talking with Ace about 10 years ago and he confirmed that Alive was heavily patched up in the studio. As for worse guitar players I think the guy from the chili peppers John Frusciante (sorry if I spelled that wrong),is weak.IMO.

Prince is a noise-maker. If I rolled a guitar down a hill it would sound better.

May I recommend you listen to the following 4 Zep songs to become an instant fan of Jimmy Page:

I Can't Quit You Baby
I'm Gonna Crawl
Since I've Been Lovin' You
You Shook Me

Melillo- If you played a guitar, I would respect your opinion. You don't. There is a difference between noise and music. Goodnight Melillo.

Ace s Frehley s...Shock me is still...a blast!!!!!

Re: Worst Lead Guitar Players

There's nothing wrong with Ace's playing in the 70s. I can't believe that people thinks the contributions he gave back then is crap?

Some examples:

Deuce
She
I Was Made For Loving You
2000 Man (!)
Firehouse
New York Groove
