I'm from Athens and i'm trying to find one reason for not take place Athens concert, just as the time that the tickets for this concert haven't released yet. The 1998 concert was one of the 2-3 best and most commercial succesful concerts at their european tour, with 78.000 people in the stadium. People in Greece buy tickets at the last minute and the same happened at their 98 concert, Olympic Games and every big artistic event. Athens' night the summer is wonderful, Olympic Stadium also and i can't imagime that the band will not play here.

Me too..... I´m from Spain and Athens goes to be the center of my tour... I can change Amsterdam, Barcelona, London...... common... but Athens... Stones, me..... and all the crazy greeks!!!!!! Uffff......... common.. I want it!!!!

Always Greek women were beautiful and luscious. And at their 98 concert there were more young women than any other concert has take place in Greece.

Cancelling the Athens concert is totally crazy! No logic there..! Why would they do that? i m hoping that another date for Athens will turn up..

I am from Athens too. Yesterday i phoned the company that is responsible for the concert (DiDiMusic). They told me: “We have not idea about it, everything is OK. Now the tickets are ready for empossing!”

I still hope the gig will take place in Athens. If not this date, in September (in a case of adding some summery concerts, for example in Italy). Otherwise i can’t find a logical reason or explanation. Athens, 1998: 79,446 tickets. Only two cocerts in Greece in their history (1967, 1998). As gia43 says cancelling the Athens concert is totally crazy! But i still hope

For sure it was the #6 most massive concert at the european tour, after Nuremberg (91,590 tickets), Hambourg (90,000), Hanover (89,963), Hague (86,000) and Manheim.

i don't believe that it will be in September, because 29th of August is the final day of the european tour. The shows at Athens and Belgrader moved, in case the band play more concerts in Italy. Finally i don't believe that the concert will cancelled

On IORR's "changes" you can see: "Athens and Belgrade changed - new dates not known. Lyon France and Paris 2nd show probably getting Athens/Belgrade dates."

as for Belgrade concerned: local promoter claims that Belgrade is NOT canceled ,just delayed,for some technical reasons...
something like: tight schedule and no time to setup the stage !

Just to be realistic, the Stones cannot skip Greece. Like BV wrote, it is just delayed in times. The reports on their last show in Athens were so great. And such a wonderful country and nice people.

yes, phd. I totally agree with you. Still hope, but until now we haven't any sign for the concert and as i read in another topic the end of August probably will be the end of their european tour. And only 18 countries in europe;

any new information ; it is 16th of february and there is no sign that the group will play in Athens. Unfortunately we won't have the opportunity to see the group in our country, so i prepare my suitcases for another country (zagreb).
