Billy Preston

Just read an article on the MSN music entertainment site about Billy Preston. It paints a pretty dire picture for him dealing with a heart infection. It also mentions that he had a kidney replacement in '02 that has since failed, and he now undergoes thrice weekly dialysis. Hasn't he played on a couple of Clapton tours since then?

Yes, he toured as part of Clapton's band, but was hospitalized because of his kidney trouble. He missed a couple of weeks worth of shows, including the show I went to.

On a slightly different note, I only discovered just the other day that his European Tour album (featuring Mick Taylor) has finally been released on CD! Day Tripper has been removed for some reason or other but with two or three extra tracks put in its place.

I'm already waiting on that postman!
