Missing warhorses

I really wonder why The Stones still haven't played Gimmie Shelter and Street Fighting Man on this tour.If your setlist is going to include mostly warhorses than at least play the best of them. These two gems make Start me up and IORR sound like bubblegum pop.

I hope these excellent songs will make their way to the setlist for the European tour.

At the risk of getting berated I wish they would drop IORR, Start me up and Tumbling Dice, maybe even YCAGWYW. It would be nice to hear some of those 'classic' album tracks, Moonlight Mile, Winter etc.

I could easily say that they probably haven't been played is because of the fact that they've been played too much in recent tours. However, so has just about every other warhorse on the tour - JJF, Satisfaction, SMU, HTW, Brown Sugar, etc, etc. so I really don't know why they haven't played them! lol Maybe they'll play 'em later on in the tour. Who knows. smiling smiley

I could start a petition for dropping SMU, it bores me to death.
Dice is also on the boundary to Nowhereland in my jungle ears.
Same goes for YGAGWYW. IORR I have a soft spot for though.

Chances they play Moonlight or Winter I would compare
to a snowball´s in hell. But maybe Lovin Cupgrinning smiley!?
I´d sign a petition to Stones to make them play Winter too.

Well we all wish they played songs like those you have mentioned but as it's not alway possible, they should at least give us such timeless classics like SFM and Gimmie Shelter,Pain it Black as well.More of that dark stuff

Re: Missing warhorses

Yeah, more dark stuff...like Ruby Tuesday! grinning smiley

Shelter is deeply missed & I´m pretty sure it will be put in
at latest to the European leg.
PIB & SFM I´m not too sure they can make
justice today. Maybe SFM with Jagger´s new political anger,
but PIB ought to get a eternal rest.

Agree 100% on Shelter.
- And get us Sister Morphine back; that´s Dark too aint it!

Re: Missing warhorses

Yeah,Morphine should be played on every show. That is one of their best songs.

Well I am going to see The Stones in Belgrade and it is going to be their first show here so I am not sure if I can expect some more obsure gems like Morphine. It will probably be the greatest hits set(well, that at least gives me hope that they are going to throw in Gimmie Shelter and Paint it Black)

gimme shelter tonight

Gimmie Shelter is the one warhorse nobody should get tired of and I haven't noticed any complaints about it on this board.

I listened to No Security version today,so powerful, better than studio take. Can they still pull it off that well?

More dark stuff - Heartbreaker, Blinded By Rainbows (that's dark, ain't it?), 2000 LYFH??? That's both dark and very lonely when you listen to it.

Serbia deserves GS. And SM. And LC. Let go PIB too.
Any tix left there in Belgrad, s_s?

Does anyone know why they dropped 2000 LYFH after SW tour? Was the crowd reception bad? That song would be a real treat to hear.

Baboon bro, tixets are still not on sale and I don't think that they will sell out quickly. The capacity of Hippodrome where they are going to play is pretty big, about 200 000 people. My judgment is that there will be 50 000 to 70 000 of people at the show.

Re: Missing warhorses

The promoter said that the tixets are going to be much cheaper than in Western Europe. We are still waiting for them to go on sale.I am unpatient, just can't wait to have them in my hands. It's gonna be my first Rolling Stones show(I have been waiting on it for 8 years, just didn't have possibility to attend any of last two tours' shows).

Re: Missing warhorses

200,000 - thats just weird...
What you saying is really that if someone want to go see them
without getting totally broke; you´d better go to Belgrad...?
Still searchin a 2nd place after Göteborg to view
a Stones concert, see. If money arrives till then that is.

Re: Missing warhorses

Well I think the tickets are going to cost about 50 euros and I don't think that they will have more than 100 000 tickets on sale but maybe I am wrong.Anyway I think that it's gonna be a great show since our crowd is pretty energetic.

My former neighbors were Serbs (Romani). Pleasant people.
A little loud at times but on the whole great folks.

My cousin lives in Sweden for four years already.I think I will visit her soon, maybe this summer or even earlier than that.I heard a lot of nice things about Sweden and can't wait to experience them myself.

Well, yeah ,if I come to Sweden we might have a drink or two.
The same goes for you,if you are coming to the Belgrade show let me know.

Speaking with a friend of reconctructing out interrail
from 1984 thru the pre-war Yugoslavia. We spent a night in Belgrad
then; I also use to visit Zagreb & Split. We were on our
way to Athens, its was 37-40 degrees Celcius, trains crowded like
a sardine can. We had a private accomodation in Belgrad close
to the station. Came from Budapest (me) & after Athens we wnt
thru Italy, did split up & went on to Paris, Denmark & Northern Norway.
Up there it was 2 degrees...

But now as we´re 42 year old geezers we would probably use a car...
See if we bumps into you first or vice versa.

o Well now we're respected in society
o We’ve got doctors and lawyers in the front-row seats
o We've got Ameriquest and the Super Bowl
o We play our 40 Licks, then we head on home
o Uh yes!
o
o Well you're no pillar of society
o And you worry about the band that we used to be
o You're a hard-core fan, you're on RS.COM
o You want obscure shit from before you were born
o If you don’t like the set, don't come back
o If you don’t like the set, don't come BACK!
o
o It’s so predictable
o It’s so predictable
o It’s all foreseeable
o It’s so predictable
o If you don’t like the hits
o Don’t buy the tix
o Don't come back

Dump YCAGWYW......2 new songs could be played instead of a 7 or 8 minute version of YCAGWYW, plus playing iy at the end is so anti-climatic, the energy gets lost.

Dump Satisfaction and IORR.Please. I love thos songs but where is the new stuff? Back of My Hand was great at the Garden

They should be playing at least 23 songs with a new album out.

After Voodoo, Bridges and Licks Gimme Shelter has been played to Death, same goes for Miss You.

They should rumble thru Rambler, Sugar and JJF as the last 3 songs

KR really has been really the only one offering up variety since Voodoo 1-The Worst, 2-Happy, 3-Make Me Run, 4-Wanna Hold You, 5-All About You, 6-Thru and Thru, 7-Slipping Away, 8-Nearness, 9-Infamy, 10- Empty

I will be at both MSG shows in January. I am Hoping to Hear "Empty" and "Tears" but I dread another round of YCAGWYW.....people started to sit down...during an encore!

Milo, NYC
Treat me sweet and cool

"New warhorses" for the ending:

All Down The Line
Under My Thumb
Rip This Joint
Star Star
Live With Me
Gimme Shelter (encore)

Nobody would have complained! I'm sure that everybody in the crowd, new fans or old fans, would have had as much of a great time with these songs
