It looks like the Saturday Night Live episode from 1993 with Mick Jagger as musical guest will be shown on NBC tonight at 3AM EST. Time may not be totally accurate due to New Years Eve programming.

Everyone should watch this!!! This is the one where Mick does Keith in the Point/Counterpoint. I know a bunch of people had written a few months back that they had never seen it.

Very funny. You'll never see anyone imitate Keith better than Mick does it here.

Thanks for the tip Stonesfan!

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

The Yahoo TV listings say the start time is 2:51 AM EST. I guess it depends on the length of the New Year's coverage.

Yeah, I just saw it, they only showed Mick's musical performance. He wasn't even the host, it was Luke Perry!

Yeah, Mick was only the musical guest. I think the whole band hosted once around Some Girls but otherwise, they've just been the musical acts with some guest spots during the skits.

Jerry Hall hosted once in 1985-86. Stevie Ray Vaughan was the musical guest. Mick made a cameo appearance as I recall.

Yeah, he did. It was during the "liar" sketch with the Tommy Flanagan character (Jon Lovitz). It was pretty funny. Mick did the "that's the ticket" line.

That was very funny; Tommy Flanagan is trying to hit on Jerry Hall by saying he knows Mick Jagger and cowrote Satisfaction. Mick immediately realizes the value of Tommy's lies and instead of busting him, he says to Jerry, "Remember that weekend when I didn't come home? I was with Tommy, yeah, that's the ticket!"

The Stones never hosted. But everytime the Stones or one of them has been the guest they appear in one or more skits.
When the whole band played in 78 Mayor Ed Koch was the host. Ron and Charlie appeared in the Greek "Cheeseburger" diner. Jagger then did the Tom Snyder thing with Akroyd.
There was a time when Jerry hosted that Mick also appeared as a butler in a skit. I think Dana carvey was doing a takeoff on Prince Charles and the Tampax.
Keith was music guest with the Winos and he is hanging out at the beginning in the hallway and scares someone away.
Jagger does the skit with Mike Myers where he plays Keith which is still one of th best skits ever on SNL.
Another hilarious "Stone" moment in SNL was when Mike Myers would always do his Ron Wood impression. One time I saw the real Ron Wood on Bob Kostas shortlived talkshow and it was uncanny how much he acted like his own impression LOL.

They cut up the living Bejeesus out of this yesterday... Just our luck to have the Mick episode on the mangled New Year's Eve program...

THey only showed Sweet Thing I think. Nothing else, no skits, not the other song (I think he also did Don't Tear Me up, not shown).

I kept missing this episode when it was shown in the past. I would love to see the Mick-as-Keith Skit... damn.

I recall watching SNL with Gabriel Byrne hosting back in the 90's. He did a skit called "Cooking with Keith Richards" or something like that. His impersonation of Keith was awesome.

Hey ChelseaDrugstore, they did host SNL. Ed Koch only did a cameo, it was in October of 78. (I checked the SNL archive website)

Also, that Prince Charles sketch was when Luke Perry hosted, not Jerry Hall. That would've been on the show they re-ran last night, but sounds like they wouldn't have played it anyway.

Mick as Keith

Gabriel Byrne as Keith

Mick also appeared on SNL in 2001 to play 2 songs from Goddess in the Doorway. I seem to recall him appearing in a skit with Jimmy Fallon where Fallon was his image in the mirror or something like that.

Keith's appearance in the hallway is during a show
where Tom Hanks is hosting. During his opening
monologue, they begin a skit where Tom joins the
"Five Timer's Club". Tom walks through the
hallways (where he briefly spots Keith getting
something to drink), and eventually enters a room
with the likes of Steve Martin and others that
have hosted five times or more.

Hey cirrhosis, you got those two openings mixed up. Tom did do a Fiver Timers thing (which was really good btw, "Hey, Steve Martin" "please, please, call me MR. Steve Martin".

The one Keith was on was a few years earlier, and it was about Tom being a really nice guy and how his goodness carried over to other people. They kept playing angelic music each time he had a new encounter with someone. Keith's part was like this. (not verbatim!)

Tom: Oh hey, Keith. I think your bass player got sick in the dressing room. I think one of us should help him out.

Keith: Oh, thanks man.

You can get the skit of Mick playing Keith and Myers as Mick on the SNL Best of Mike Myers DVD. It also has Myers acting as Ron Wood as well.
