Pete hasn't written a decent song in 20 years. Maybe there is some juice left in there. Hopefully he won't call this a Who tour. That would be like Mick and Keith touring as the Rolling Stones.
LOL LOGIE THAT WAS FUNNY! Anyways ive seen the who about 5 times since 2000. I enjoy their shows, im not a 60 year old man whos seen them a bunch of times already so the songs that i already know is cool. If they can put an album together of new stuff thats fine. I like real good looking boy and old red wine. Anyways The Who can still blow many a band off stage at there old age. So good for the Who make some more money hell my Stones are doing it.
i like em..i liked the Quad tour..and as far as rolling through ther e war horses, right on .....whhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooo arrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeee youuuuuuuuuuuu.......da done!!!!!!!!!
Actually, in terms of new material, Pete declared recently that even if he doesn't have enough in the can for an album, he'll bring out an EP and play all of the songs live.
i cant wait 2 ,ill c as many shows as i can , they were incredible in 02 , kinda sad thou when they take their bow there's only 2 of them left , long live rock , dead or alive

Did you read Pete's letter? He said it WON'T be an EP. He doesn't say what his manager's brilliant idea is. Probably another greatest hits CD with one new song on it.

This will be the third "Who" tour since Entwistle died. They have to call it that. No one's gonna pay $200 to see something called the Daltrey-Townshend Band.

I admit I want to hear new Who songs. What I don't want to hear is Behind Blue Eyes for the 2,876th time.
Chances are it might be Internet downloads or something via iTunes, which would be pretty cool. Although a complete album would be the prefered option...
Has anyone seen some of the videos of a working day he's posted? He had one a few weeks ago called "Poised", which was about fifteen minutes long and was just him having some fun in his studio, while another one called "Strange Weather" premiered one of his new songs called 'How Can I Help You Sir?'. It sounds like a @#$%& awesome track, and it shows its genesis from an acoustic-based tender thing to a fully-fledged demo with strings and all. That got me really excited, and I just cannot wait for this.

I've heard many people say that was the best gig they ever saw of any band... not hard to believe... but how do you pack the Who sound into a venue as small as HOB Chicago ?
"It's just that demon life has got me in it's sway..."
it was the LOUDEST concert i ever saw. had trouble hearing for 2 days. they must be deaf! entwisle was the BEST bassist ever! roger still has the voice. pete still can rock out with his windmills. zack starsky was surprisingly awesome.
I think they've only gotten better with age. Daltrey still has it, and his vocals are great as ever, although he doesn't move quite as much as he once did (he never really was a mover though, but I've seen footage of him during 'Who Are You' from 1982 or so where he's just hopping from foot to foot, and running in one spot for ages). Townshend, however, is all over the stage, and I think his guitar playing has become more inspired and fiery than it ever was. I always thought of him as a rhythm guitarist, but he seems to be taking far more chances than ever before with his guitar playing, and it's really paying off.
Zak is the best thing The Who could've had happen to them in recent years (Entwistle's death, obviously, is the worst), and I really do think he's much, much better than Kenney Jones - a good drummer in his own right, but not fit for The Who - and Simon Phillips - again, a good drummer, but listening to the 1989 Tommy stuff, he sounds too much like a Broadway type of drummer... hard to describe, really, but Zak is just perfect for The Who. Not too flashy, but really lays down a wild beat.
I haven't seen The Who since 2002 (saw them twice, once in 2000 and again in 2002), so I'm really looking forward to this upcoming tour. I just hope all goes according to plan...
I wish Townshend would stop all his whining and just write ten to twelve songs for Roger and the band and put out a new Who album. It's too bad that Entwistle is dead, and Moon too for that matter, but half a Who is better than none as far as I'm concerned.
We probably won't get an album but if we're lucky may get five or six new songs on Itunes or somewhere else on the net. Whether they're any good is another matter. The two new songs on the '04 greatest hits album were decent, not at all embarassing, but certainly nothing special and nothing to brag about.
I'll probably see them in '06 if ticket prices are reasonable because it will have been four years since I saw them in '02. I wouldn't want to see them play Won't Get Fooled Again, etc., every year or even every two years, but every four years is ok. I just hope they have Starkey again. He is very nearly as good as Moon was in his prime.
