Best All Down The Line - Brussels 1973 - The band and Taylor Rip Through the song
and this song for me defines the band for the 72/73 tour with all the craziness,
drugs,Stones Touring Party and they are the greatest rock and roll band at that
time.BTW not fast and Taylor is not rushing the band its flat ass rock and roll.

this is something i'll never understand about the taylor's club membs

have you ever read in a concert ad, poster or ticket: "The Rolling Stones & Mick Taylor"?

He was a member of that band
and he is much appreciated and loved by any stones fan
now, since 1974, he's no more part of the band

need "brussels 1973" any more praise?

is there someone in the world of stones fans that is not informed that this is a great boot of a great concert?

a great concert by The Rolling Stones period

Best All Down The Line? To my knowledge: All Down The Line from the single Wild Horses (or was it the single Like A Rolling Stone?) 1995, Stripped.

that's definitely a good one - and one that really surprised me, as the one they played in Oakland on the VL tour was horrendous.

Open G, mate. If I'm not wrong ADTL from Brussels 73 is played tooo fast and the whole song almost falls apart after Jagger loses himself after the solo.

From all the versions you can choose (with or without Taylor), there are a lot of versions better that this one, IMO.

Bruno,

You are correct and on point. The best version IMHO of All Down The Line is the matinee show from Philly in 1972. Although it may be an audience recording and Jagger's vocals a little low in the mix, the churning of Keith's rhythm and Taylor's slide solo is evident and absolutely amazing!

I will say since there are numerous threads (once again) comparing Taylor and Wood that Woodie has played All Down The Line with some conviction on the ABB tour and as a band the Stones are playing this EOMS classic as well now as they have since '73, perhaps even better than they did in '78 when they played it most every night.

Rhetorical question -- who says that the next live version they play might not be the "best" one?

the small snippet of ADTL on the @#$%& Blues movie (could be Sanfrancisco?) is SUPERB, the best! When Jagger gets into the shouting of the vocals at the very end of the song you know he thinks the song is rocking!

I think the 1972 US Tour versions are better than the '73 versions.
