Another goodbye to another good friend.

Sad to say we have lost 5string.

His real name was Brian Burke and he was a legend on the Athens music scene as guitarist and songwriter for The Normaltown Flyers.

A few years back, I had the pleasure of meeting Brian (and Lukester) at an Atlanta Braves baseball game. Great guys to enjoy a beer and some baseball with.

Brain would sometimes post about his close relationship with Keith and Ronnie. Indeed, he would go back to the hotel with them and play acoustic blues and country through the night. They called him "Mr. Burke".

Anyway, I hated to hear about his passing.

My dad, the man, the legend, the one who taught me what it means to be cool, Brian Burke passed away yesterday afternoon after 77 years. I never knew what it was like to grow up without a dad because when I was two years old Uncle Brian stepped right in and was by my side ever since. (Instagram)
