It was a great surprise to hear the radically alternate versions of songs from Goats Head Soup that came with the Deluxe box a few years ago.

All the 70s's albums have now had Super Deluxe version except for It's Only Rock'n'Roll which unfortunately has proved to be the one with the least unreleased or alternate version tracks appearing on bootlegs.

I have the It's Only Goat's Head Soup (But We Like It) bootleg and there are some minimally different or longer versions of familiar songs on there but nothing as far reaching as say, the piano demo of 100 Years Ago or the alternative mix of Hide Your Love.

It would be amazing to hear a really different version of Time Waits For No One, Luxury or Till The Next Goodbye.

Logically, this should be the next archive release so I'm just hoping there might be some great material than no one has even heard before.

In recent years the original It's Only Rock'n'Roll cut with Bowie and Kenney Jones on drums has surfaced so I'm hoping there may be more in the Stones archives waiting to be released.

I enjoyed this but there must be some different versions as the song was being built up -

I agree 100% that this album should be the next one to receive the deluxe treatment; in fact, it's been argued that It's Only Rock'N Roll was the album in most need of an upgrade, given how its songs sound so muddy compared to others. Is an upgrade even being considered by the powers-that-be at this point?

I do wonder which outtakes could be included on a bonus disc. Haven't a few outtakes already been included on other deluxe sets? ("Drift Away" on the Tattoo You deluxe set comes to mind).

Love hearing "Fingerprint File" at the slower, correct speed as it was originally meant to be. Thanks for sharing the link.

I know there are other "versions" of some songs from IORR, but I haven't studied them significantly. It would be interesting to know if those songs found on bootlegs like "Till the Next Goodbye" and "Dance Little Sister" are the original Andy Johns mixes, as he wasn't happy with the final product—which he did not mix. I just haven't listened closely to them.

As far as outtakes go, all besides "Slow Down And Stop" were used on Tattoo You. At least as far as I remember. Maybe they recorded a few other R&B classics like a version of "Shame Shame Shame" (Jimmy Reed), as that was the original concept. They jammed with Moroder and also possibly cut a version of "Black Limo" with Ron Wood.

*We also know the early version of "IORR" with Bowie and Ron Wood exists due to the FF Outtakes.

I'm particularly interested in how 'Time Waits for No One' evolved from the demo to the final version, especially whether Mick Taylor played different solos during production. I like the album overall; there are no weak tracks.

"Luxury" is my favourite track off this album. Assuming it exists, I would love to hear an alternate or an extended version of this song on a deluxe release.

I saw a version on YouTube with Mick Taylor playing over the original recording; some guy uploaded it to YouTube, but years later I couldn't find it anymore when I searched... he had an interesting way of playing the guitar.

About the "Giorgio Moroder Jams" something must exist (but doesn't circulate) as Peter Doggett mentioned these jams in a fascinating (for the time) outtakes series in "Record Collector" in 1993/1994. I wanted to the articles recently, sadly I wasn't able to locate them in my "storage" :-(

Taylor wasn't at the initial recording sessions for IORR, so assuming that's when the demo was cut, he wouldn't have worked on it (at least recording-wise) until he arrived later.

I would enjoy some instrumental jams like on the B&B deluxe.Also ManEating Woman Seperately?And the album has a bad mix.Maybe alternate takes.

Right, we have "Man Eating Woman" and "English Rose" too that were played back at De Doelen in February in 1975.

Man Eating Woman and English Rose were part of the Black And Blue sessions/auditions that started in Rotterdam and continued in Munich.

You're right, these are playback versions, I missed that. Man Eating Woman is probably from the Goats Head Soup sessions in Jamaica, November/December 1972. English Rose might also be from those sessions or from the Black And Blue sessions/auditions in Munich, December 1974. But both probably not outtakes from the IORR sessions.

Evidentially some of the Stones recorded a song/jam with Jamaican musicians early in the sessions. Not much else is known.

There is also this: Other mooted works-in-progress from the Dynamic sessions include Four And In, After Muddy And Charlie, First Thing, Zabadoo, Brown Leaves, Give Us A Break, Jamaica, and Miami. None of them have surfaced on bootleg to date.

The unknowns are After Muddy and Charlie, Zabadoo, Jamaica, and Miami. I think Jamaica could be heartbreaker and Miami and early version of Fast Talking. Just guessing.

I thought Brown Leaves was later however.

It sounds like Get it On , Bang the Gong.

Time waits for No one Is second Best song Ever in rock history. It makes this album great. Fingerprint file Is in top 15 Stones catalogue... Great album

That said, I like it!

They brilliantly changed the key from the 1 to the 5, although as I recall there have been a couple times they didn't do it in B, I think A, at least once, and although I've never read him saying it, you know it was Keith's idea to "make it his", and it gave it a little bit of Chuck Berry with some bounce, although the LOVE YOU LIVE version is on fire stellar playing wise; they never performed it again with that swagger after 1975-76's tours. By 1989 it basically turned into a cute novelty song.
