"You Know I'm No Good" is one of the songs on Foreign Tongues - does anybody know already if it is a cover version of the Amy Winehouse hit ?

I think this is a Keith song, the title has a bit of a Keith song in it in my opinion.

Yep.

For whatever reason they covered it - aside from it being an awesome song.

Fantastic song. But not an obvious choice and very strange to imagine Jagger singing this. Can't wait to hear it.

Could be Keith singing... That would work.

I must say, it's a surprise, but also I can imagine it being 'Stonesed' up.

I think it is very easy to imagine to Mick sing it. Actually I think it will suit very well to his voice and interpretation skills. Take a clue from here:

good catch. But maybe it's due this song being so iconic sung by Amy that it's difficult to imagine. Let alone the lyrics...

Can't wait to hear it anyway.

I must say this really is a pretty big surprise. The Stones haven't covered a relatively recent song for a long, long time. They are paying her a huge compliment with a recorded cover. That's for sure. Will be interesting to hear this one.

In 1974 they covered Drift Away, which came out in 1973. That may be the newest cover recording in terms of time between the original and them that they've ever done.

And hell yeah it's a big surprise. In one way it's a bit of an eye opener considering they still have original songs recorded leftover. It will be interesting to hear/read who came up with the idea.

Drift Away is actually from 1970.

Shame, Shame, Shame from 1974 was done by the Stones in 1975.

I'm Yours And I'm Hers by Johnny Winter was released in April 15, 1969 and played live by the Stones July 5, 1969.

It was written in 1970. There was a 1972 release by John Henry Kurtz. The more famous version by Dobie Gray released in 1973.

Has to be, right? I just listened to Winehouse version, its plods along. Did she ever do a fast original rocker?

Lol how did this come up in the studio? Who introduced it? Bless this band…..

Most of her recording's were mid-tempo, or slow, with jazzy elements. I suppose something like Valerie, or Rehab, could be considered more up-tempo.

This is so embarassing. She doesn't even know the words. She just started babbling

noncense. Mick even had to tell her to move.

I remember Keith had some pretty strong words for her after this.

Not about his lousy guitar mess on this? He plays completely off key at the end.

You mean that one note? That's what makes Keith Keith.

Don't get wasted if you are going on stage with The Stones as a guest. unbelievably disrespectful, unappreciative and unprofessional. Keith was right.

What about Time Is On My Side from Irma Thomas?

I ad this info:

Well it was released by Irma Thomas April 1964 and by the Rolling Stones in September 1964 I see on Wikipedia. But it seems to be a B-side from Kai Winding (never heard of him)
