"Andrew has most likely finished most of the songs, I'm sure they will be good but is it the Stones at this stage."
That's not ma statement with any foundation of knowledge of any kind.
Denigrating the band's autonomy to the level of puppetry and mimicry is a bit much! An AI hallucination of thought...
Lots of people have helped out and finished bits of for the Stones through their 60 years. I don't see why Andrew, the second significant Andrew of their career, would be any different...

Whilst I agree with all of the points raised about AI (I also work in Education and see it's damaging effects), let's not forget that this Stones video isn't AI. It's just computer generated imagery. Whilst it could be argued that all AI is computer generated imagery, not all computer generated imagery is AI.
After all, Toy Story wasn't AI.

I have watched the video once, forcing myself to watch it through, even if it is disgusting, but I will never watch it again.
It is not The Stones. It is Mick Jagger insisting on not growing old. For ages he has been doing the same. At the El Rey promo show in 2001 he hired a bunch of video models. They were placed in the front, nice young girls to talk to, paid $200 each, short, in order not to stand out too much. Security asked us older looking peoople in the attendance to move aside, to let the paid models a third of our age, in their early 20's to the front. The same happened in every promo shooting, like Beacon Theatre, Fonda and so on. Paid short video models, some times even young boys, in their early 20's at the most, paid $200 each to make the Stones fans look young.
Now I understand why Keith looked a bit lost during the press meetings. He just did not approve of any of this. Ronnie had no vote. So Mick got what he wanted.
If it is stand-in's, lookalikes or AI does not matter. It is not the Stones, and it is not their fans.
There is something called "growing old gracefully". Then there is something called desperation. I am sure a psycologist or a social anthropologist will have a better analysis of it.
A bunch, 10+ drummers, same with keyboards and bass players, non looking like Darryl, Steve, Chuck or Matt. Professional dancers. It is not my band. Not my friends in the "crowd". It is a time machine back to the 70's, but I just can not get myself into watch it anymore. It is probably ment for the younger fans.
I will check what my grandchildren think. They have seen the Stones live, they might have an opinion on this video.

I have shown this video to my students — people in their 20s. I didn’t tell them anything beforehand, apart from the fact that it was supposed to be a The Rolling Stones video. The majority felt it was fake rather than official, something made with AI, and said it felt weird and a bit disgusting to realize it was actually a song recorded by old guys. I really have no clue who they thought this would amuse. What a missed opportunity.
On a positive note, I enjoy playing the vinyl single of the song. It sounds better to my ears than the streaming version.

In Germany, 'In The Stars' is #61 in the [OffizielleCharts.de] - (May 22, 2026). Interestingly, Michael Jackson's 1982 tracks reached #5 and #8 in the same [OffizielleCharts.de] .

The single failed to enter the UK Top 100. Despite its physical release, streaming numbers (which account for 80-85% of the chart) were weak and insufficient to boost physical sales.
The single's performance during the week was as follows:
Sunday Midweek (pre-sales and numbers from Friday to Sunday): #36
Monday Midweek (pre-sales and numbers from Friday to Monday): #59
It did not appear on today's final chart, meaning that 90% or more of the total was physical sales, and the lack of streaming kept it out.
In comparison, "Angry" debuted at #34 three years ago with much better sales and streaming numbers: almost 9,000 units, at least double what "In The Stars" accumulated.
This week's #100 track accumulated 4,700 units, so the single "In The Stars" was below that number.

I think they are more of an album band than a singles band. Their fan base is old and no longer has the strength to buy a single, and the radio stations do not find this an interesting target group to advertise to. But the album will sell well: then Stones fans will go to the shops and buy the album en masse for themselves or for their older family member.

Yes, I do think the album will chart significantly more highly; at least top-5 in the U.K., probably #1, even. I envisage a slightly lower chat placing in the U.S.A., however, though still a top-ten must be a cert.

The Stones are not in the best position to release singles since
1) Their fan base is old and prefers physical releases to streaming
2) Most fans do not care buying a physical single knowing the album comes out soon that the single is on anyway
The album might have a better change entering a good position at the charts.

90% of the sales being 'physical' seems utterly ridiculous, considering the colossal popularity of the major streaming platforms. So, were the only one's to purchase the 'physical release', those here and from Rocks Off and Shidoobie?
Is this he first Stones single to 'not chart' in the U.K.?

I think it's a matter of delivering the goods, if something is amazing like Paint It Black it's incredible how many people love the Stones, one of the most watched/played/streamed videos in the world.
But a song has to resonate with people, it needs that ingredient that Keith used to deliver as in Paint It Black / Start Me Up / Love Is Strong etc.
Bullshit videos really don't help, yeah yeah you all say it's not AI but it might aa well be and people are sick of AI in music both young and old.

It's all about timing. Right now, in 2026, the Stones aren't cool for the market. They're an old band, almost inaccessible to the general public. They don't give interviews, they're not in the media, they don't play live, they don't have any real contact with ordinary people, and that's reflected in their sales and streaming numbers.
Who knows what will happen in 5-10 years? 15-20 years ago, Michael Jackson had the worst reputation in the world and was practically canceled, and today, in 2026, he has two albums in the US Top 10, he had a #1 hit in the UK two weeks ago, his songs are in the Top 10 worldwide, and he's almost as popular as he was 30 years ago or more. It's a shame he's not alive to enjoy it.
