Here's another youtube offering, "Worried about the new Rolling Stones album". Not exactly super-recent but I think I have not seen it here yet.

I think mr. Popoff should stick to his heavy metal crap and leave the Stones to people who love genuine music.

I have never heard such drivel about the Stones.

This vinyl record system with liquid inside is now fully developed. It wasn't uncommon for them to leak when the first ones came out. Jack White's had plenty of leaks.

EDIT : 900 copies sold in 20 minutes

Ah, glad I waited and didn't order one of the other 87 versions. Just ordered this great baby pink and red smash version at Blood Records.

Their Hackney Diamonds Zoetrope version was nice too, but that one didn't come with the original sleeve.

Now I only need the CD and Atmos digipack.

To those purchasing multiple vinyl variants: how do you decide which edition to play? Do the other's sit on a shelf? Will you, on occasion, take them down to have a look at?

Playing them? Are you out of your mind???!!!!

Those multi-colored versions are for collecting only. They are more like postage stamps, coins, or baseball cards. They have very little to do with music or sound quality.

I do not want to use the rude word fetishism, but buying multiple copies of the same record just because the vinyl is a different color comes pretty close. You know - look at them, touch them, admire them, show them to your fellow "partners in crime." That sort of thing. winking smiley

Yes, I did imagine that most of these folk will play for the 'boring' black vinyl, and just admire the others! I find it all somewhat materialistic and silly; but there's evidently a market amongst some, here! Good for all of you smiling smiley

I must admit that I am guilty too. Not when it comes to colored vinyl, though.

I have a fixation on the old West German London CD The Rolling Stones [London 820 047-2]. Somehow, I managed to collect eight versions pressed from glass master 01# (the one with the cold ending of Tell Me), all with different label designs, hub imprints, and/or booklet variations. On top of that, I have two West Germany-for-Japan imports. The same West German discs but with an OBI or import sticker.

They all sound exactly the same. They just look different.

As a result, ten copies of essentially the same CD are gracefully collecting dust on the shelf. From a practical point of view, this makes absolutely no sense. From a collector's point of view, however, it is a perfectly rational arrangement.

Unlike Blood Records’ release of HD, I give this one a miss as it is not a zoetrope.

Well, those West German pressings are interesting, with the stereo mixes that are unavailable elsewhere officially. I would still like to see a release of all their genuine, mid-60's stereo mixes.

I have read once that the reason black vinyl is used primarily is that it produces the best sound and anything other than that is less. Thoughts?
