I actually don't even dare to order a Foreign Tongues version yet because I'm afraid that, just like with Hackney Diamonds, they'll suddenly release all sorts of cool limited edition versions.

I wait until I see everything that's offered, unless there's something I know I'll really like.

This time, I ordered the picture disc offered by Spotify. I love the classic red Rolling Stones logo on the yellow background.

I'm sure I'll get the Blu-ray Foreign Tongues for the surround sound.

Can’t believe we have to wait until July 10. Jeez…..6+ weeks

Myself I go on holiday without music equipment (how simple it is) on July 6. and return only with the start of August. In addition, I have also avoided to listen to any of the released songs.

It will be some time for me to wait yet.

"Wait till you hear the s**t Keith’s playing. It’s unbelievable."

#RollingStones producer Andrew Watt says the band's forthcoming Foreign Tongues is "rawer" than Hackney Diamonds

When I was 12 years old I heard, the radio on the bus, doo doo doo doo doo.

One day later I was in a record store and saw UNDERCOVER.

Having seen the video I thought for sure what I heard would be on that album.

Got the album.

There were some doo doo doo doo's alright - but not what I heard.

Over time I listened to the album and really got into Feel On Baby, Too Much Blood and Pretty Beat Up.

A few months go by and I heard the doo doo doo doo song on the radio again and I jumped my seat and asked someone older than me

WHAT IS THAT SONG

Prior to all of that I grew up hearing LET IT BLEED, GET YER YA-YAS and the two HOT ROCKS as far as The Rolling Stones go. No one in my family cared beyond Wild Horses.

EXILE ON MAIN STREET meant zero.

To this day it means nothing to them. The Stones ended with Wild Horses.

My friend said, That's Heartbreaker.

Magically GOATS HEAD SOUP showed up for x-mas that year. I was already with TATOO YOU and UNDERCOVER on my own accord. Loved both. Played them all the time.

When REWIND came out I was ecstatic. Got it on vinyl.

A couple years go by, CDs come out as the new way and the first one I got was REWIND.

It was fantastic.

Then Harlem Shuffle. Heard it on the radio. WHAT IS THAT? Next thing I knew was I caught the video on MTV.

It's The Rolling Stones.

WOW.

DIRTY WORK came out a few weeks later, got it on vinyl and CD and enjoyed the it. Loved Back To Zero. Loved Fight. Loved the title track. Loved One Hit.

Little while goes by... Mixed Emotions. Cool. But the B-side was insane.

STEEL WHEELS comes out.

In that span of time what I knew about The Rolling Stones changed so fast I had no concept of what Jumpin' Jack Flash etc meant.

Between 1989 and 1994 I figured it out - regardless of growing up with the LET IT BLEED - MORE HOT ROCKS epoch.

Eventually DIRTY WORK was dismissed. However, when VOODOO LOUNGE was announced - hell yeah. STRIPPED - oh hell yeah. Surprise - BRIDGES TO BABYLON.

BANG was a difficult few years so not talking about it.

BLUE AND LONESOME - wow. They're still interested. Such a fantastic release.

HACKCNEY DIAMONDS was a stellar gift - incredible album.

FOREIGN TONGUES is desert. The first two songs are killer.

There might be one more.

But COME ON.

We are so lucky.

I love it. READY. Looking forward to the latter half of 2026 with The Rolling Stones.

Does anybody have any info about a second Keith song on the album other than Some Of Us, or we know nothing about this, or is it confirmed that it will be the only one?

And also, are we expecting Jealous Lover next week or the week after?

I think it's confirmed only 1 track w/ Keith on lead vocals. But someone can probably give a more definitive answer to that.

Foreign Tongues - Album Talks

From Paul McCartney's "In Conversation" interview with NME, posted May 30:

Marking his second appearance on a Stones record in the last few years after featuring on ‘Hackney Diamonds‘, McCartney told us it was “really exciting”, because he didn’t normally play “as a session guy”.

“It was really nice to just show up at a studio with your bass and just say, ‘Right, where do you want me?” he said. “You start playing, and they show you the song, and I start thinking, ‘I’m playing with the Stones!’

“And I’m well chuffed! You could be a bit blasé and go, ‘Yeah, OK, so what?’ But for me, it wasn’t – it went the other way,” he said, going on to recall how he felt in the studio.

“It was like, ‘Wow, there’s Mick [Jagger]! Ooh, there’s Keith [Richards]! Woah, there’s Ronnie [Wood]!’ It was exciting. It was really good. A great thing is all I had to do was play bass and not make mistakes, so it was good.”

He said another highlight was being able to watch Richards work out the structure of the song, which on the new album, is called ‘Covered In You’. “I could hear Keith as we did various takes, working his lick out that ended up on the album, and Ronnie working his solo out, Mick working the vocal out,” he recalled.

“So yeah, I went home that day, and I’m saying to everyone, ‘I just played with The Stones!’ I was glad I wasn’t blasé about it. It’s really exciting. Not everyone plays with The Stones!”

He seems to be getting older now (mildness of age). Weren’t there times where he just replied “Mick Jagger? Who’s that?” and similar things?

Agreed. He is mellowing and becoming less arrogant in the same way Keith has become less antagonistic.

It's track #4 on the album, but it could be the 3rd single (on the album's release date). It was in the Apple Music lyrics, like 'In The Stars' and 'Jealous Lover': [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] .

The new album is "Mick's baby," according to Ronnie in the just-released BBC radio piece.

Of course we've already basically known this, as with Hackney Diamonds.

Maybe it's two physical singles and one digital single - like with Hackney Diamonds.

'Angry' , 'Sweet Sounds Of Heaven' physical: [Discogs.com] , [Discogs.com] . 'Mess It Up (Purple Disco Machine Remix)' digital only: [Discogs.com] .

I don't recall that exactly in regard to physical singles but Mess It Up was the third single released the day of the LP with the music single being a remix and the video single being the LP version.

And then, bizarrely, nothing. Especially when the tour started.

That's straight up weird.

Seems strange to release a single on the day of the LP release. Traditionally with releases it's been first single/trailer 2-3 weeks prior to the LP release, then however many after. Def Leppard, 5-7 singles total. And whoever in various ways since the late 1980s.

The Rolling Stones usually 3 singles total post 1976.

The Rolling Stones have, technically, released one single from the 2026 album. In a new twist for the Stones the video for In The Stars has created controversy. Good or bad - it's there. X amount of millions of people know.

Hundreds of millions don't know about it or the new album.

I think it's confirmed only 1 track w/ Keith on lead vocals. But someone can probably give a more definitive answer to that.

Not confirmed AFAIK, in fact there's only ever been one mention of a Keith vocal and that was with Conan...with the ensuing 1+ minute of rambling by Keith. Now he did say at first he sang on several songs, so that could mean another vocal spot or just background vocals.

Yes, but I thought possibly someone did confirm this somewhere, but not 100%. I re-listened to Conan where it does seem to imply Keith is lead on one track only ... as Keith says "I sing vocals on several" and Conan says "but you sing lead on Some Of Us". I take that to mean only 1 as we know Conan has heard the entire album.
