Maybe the reason (not public) might be the existence of some kind of health issue wih someone of his family, and he may no want to leave home for a long period of time (3-4 months)
I like Hackney Diamonds, but I do prefer Steel Wheels, personally. Also, although perhaps not as great overall - for me - the highs of Bridges To Babylon top everything post-Tattoo You: How Can I Stop; Saint of Me, and Out of Control.
It's what he does. He's extremely unhappy with one of the two 82 year old men, especially one, so he lashes out, because of ABC, as he listed, kinda, although at least he didn't say "tour ready" like the rest of the dytes do, Keith is the reason why.
Fandom at its best, really. But it's all Keith's fault for no 2026 tour and very likely no tour ever again.
Nothing about the previous album or the new album - with a Keith song. Just that they are a failure for not touring.
A new album isn't good enough.

I contemplated that, because I do love BRIDGES, but there are enough songs on it to drag it down enough to where I think HACKNEY is that much better. Although Depending On You fits into the mold of Already Over Me and Always Suffering it's not as bad as either of them, it doesn't wander into the over-dramatic soundscape, and fortunately there's nothing like Might As Well Get Juiced and Gunface on HACKNEY.
Both albums reveal the Stones wanted to do something good and different, BRIDGES getting the nod for difference, regardless of my like or dislike of a number of songs, and both stand out as solid albums, overall, going back to 1986 for me.
I like most of the blues tunes they've done over the years but Rollin' Stone Blues is untouchable amongst all of them, even their originals.
I do believe they just played bits of the songs, and had some interview sessions, but those who were there might refort more, of course.

Quinn’s style has earned him famous fans, including Mick Jagger, who visited his solo exhibition twice at Gagosian’s New York event last year. Later, famed music executive Jimmy Iovine sent a text to Quinn’s wife and studio manager, Donna Augustin-Quinn, requesting that the artist illustrate the Rolling Stones’ album cover.
Before long, Quinn was calling and texting Jagger, and the two had lunch at the Baccarat Hotel in New York.
“He’s telling me about his children and his family and his travels,” Quinn said.
“I went to the music studio with Keith Richards one night. He was jamming, playing his guitar, and at each break, he sits down and talks to me. He’s telling me all of his stories. He’s super cool.”
Quinn’s work, which blends the faces of Jagger, Richards and Ronnie Wood, was enthusiastically received by fans and even some celebrities, whom Quinn met at an album release event in Brooklyn. At one point during the night, he felt a tap on the shoulder.
“I turn around and it’s Leonardo DiCaprio,” Quinn said. “Leo is also a collector of my work. And the first thing he says is, ‘Hey, man, I just want you to know it was my idea for you to do the Rolling Stones album cover. I don’t care what anyone says. It was me. I told Mick about your work.’”

Love how the cover upsets people. I think it's great as a cover, but also provoking people. Classic Stones.
Wish I liked both songs as well, but I am sure that there are tracks on the album that fit my taste. In the meanwhile blasting Hackney Diamonds on volume 10.

We see Keith enjoy playing 4 songs very well before Christmas with the Winos.
Then all of sudden Keith decides he doesn't want to commit after preparations were made to pencil in a tour that would take place about now.
Something doesn't add up.
Lets not forget most Stones tours now are about 16 dates, we aren't talking huge tours and they play only once or twice a week with plenty of recover time.
Looking at Keith walking sprightly and talking about guitars recently i don't see a major decline, ok he had a microphone that didn't work properly and totally threw him on Conan but I'm sure he will shine tonight on Fallon.

When Angry came out for me it was a fantastic blast of optimism. When the album came out it was instantly better than the previous 6 albums.
Feeling the same about this one based on the first two songs available, with In The Stars being the most interesting of the two. Hopefully the last single comes out before July 10.

Sweet Sounds of Heaven was released on September 28th, 2023
And Mess It Up was released as a single on October 20th, same day as the previous album released.
