And the friend who was so generous to share with us the first listening with us (we all know that a "sealed" copy is a "sealed" copy), really made my day.
That said, I am fully with BV on this subject: they should print more. I am happy for those who scored a copy but I don't understand why anyone who actually got a copy should be annoyed if other fans have a chance to have one too-
This cockroach thing was not sold for big money because it is "limited" edition. The retail price was the cost of a couple of beers.

I think you're assuming - I know with 99% certainty that the store I went to, all 5x went to consumers...
How do I know? I could hear the owner on the phone w/ the clerk, asking how many they received, and she said "5" - I'm willing to bet those buying find a way to get multiple - other stores perhaps (I had that option).
THe new limited edition is done and dusted, I wouldn't buy it if it was re-released, the easter chase is over and that was the only time I would have bought it. I mean a 45rpm with one song, how attractive is that today ? It will be fully available on all formats in soon enough...

The campaign was quite low-budget really (I think?) - a few posters in Soho, a lo-fi website and a poorly managed Whatsapp account. We and the press did the rest!
I think they never intended for mass interest in the actual vinyl - it's got the word out there that an album is on the way. Whether it's generated enough interest/awareness to ensure 'incremental sales' (of such album) I'm not sure...
Confident it will be #1 in the UK and Germany and maybe a few others.
Not sure what can be done these days to break the American market.

It’s become the industry standard. Limited release on vinyl exclusively, before it goes to streaming. The Twins are over 80. Odd to see so much whining over new music from the boys… it’s an amazing feat they are pulling off.

I spoke to my local record shop owner yesterday, who didn't get any copies. He said that it seemed as though the stores were hand-picked by the label because he'd heard absolutely nothing, despite the fact they have a good relationship with the label.

This is an open letter to The Rolling Stones management and marketing people. Please release more copies of "The Cockroaches" vinyl single "Rough and Twisted". Same format and price US $10.07.
May be numbers 0001001 to 0100000 i.e. 99,000 more copies, im addition to the initial release of 1,000 copies only. Normal channels, larger volumes, kill the black market current asking $1,000 to $2,000 om eBay. Then very disappointed fans will be pleased, and everyone will be happy. It is a long time to wait until the new album is being released in July.

Well, I have to disagree. A limited release should remain limited. It's a matter of trust. But they could release the song digitally.
They could have released the single without numbers, or in another color, or in another form. My main concern is that they were running a massive campaign, with posters, teasers etc, people queued for hours etc. And 99.9% of the fans got nothing.
Now fans have to wait for three months to get the song. It is painful, bad treatment of fans.
Also, they have a bunch of lawyers who cost a fortune, closing any posting of the song in any form online, like it was porn or something. At the same time, social media allow all sorts of AI crap where Mick or Keith are holding a baby with cancer, or other types of fake images and text, with no actions from the same lawyers.
Strange.
