I am wondering... people working in these stores... why did not they just buy these up themselves or get friends lined up to buy them? This will surely be a sought after release.

They did. London (Soho) gave a story about how there were “supposed” to be 15 but weirdly they only had 14 and they didn’t know where the 15th went. Pretty sure it’s on eBay or was held back for someone who paid something extra.

Similarly they claimed to have not received any Cockroaches or “sold out” posters but a number of posters showed up on eBay in the central London area today.

In AZ the one store had 4, 3 sold right away there was still one left, I looked on ebay & there are 3 that sold yesterday within 3 hrs of going on sale here in the PHX area, one was like $1800 & the other one was the same ad relisted twice both BINs were $810, I think all three came w/ posters, we weren't offered any posters when we got ours at the store, so were there more than 4 sent to the store? did my new Stones friends flip theirs? fake auctions maybe but they showed the record's Number in the auctions, two of my friends went to the Ventura store, no one was there waiting, the store got 4, 2 were sold right away & I called a friend who lived like 10 mins away & told him "Hey get down there!" he thought it'd be sold before he got there, it wasn't he got it,

In 2023, Universal Music also had the Instagram account hackneydiamonds2023 which looked a bit cryptic as well - [iorr.org] . And in 2023, they previewed e.g. the SSOH single there - [iorr.org] . But who knows, you could be right.

Yes, Essen was Rock Store Record Shop.
The Area was very easy. NO Problems at all. Nice Owner of the Shop.

There were 12 copies available in Twickenham (Eel Pie Records).
Several people missed out. I was lucky to have arrived early and got copy #934 .
Gutted to read somewhere here that #936 went straight to Ebay - probably the person was in the same queue as I was and "snatched" the record away from one of those who narrowly missed out and would have kept and cherished it.

Not sure if Canada has been counted. After 3+ hours of waiting at Toronto store, when the doors opened they said “You’ll have to find it.” Big scramble and got lucky but not everyone who waited a long time did. I believe they said they had 12 copies. Apparently Montreal had 9. There is a previous post here saying Vancouver did not receive the shipment on time so they had none available on the 11th.

The only misstep was not putting Highwire on the B side.

Call me crazy...for posting this here as it may technically be against the rules & unpopular...but the Cockroaches name with the stones has always been associated with club shows. I know there is no word on live shows yet, but I am the only one wondering if there are to be no smaller shows, why bother with the Cockroaches name? Why not just announce a new Stones record? Before you say publicity...a nw stones record will get enough publicity on its own...and there are also other creative ways to get the word out. I, for one ...am holding out hope for smaller shows in some format, somewhere. If they are to be final shows or tour. London deserves it. Somewhat pains me to say that being a fan here in the States.

This is an open letter to The Rolling Stones management and marketing people. Please release more copies of "The Cockroaches" vinyl single "Rough and Twisted". Same format and price US $10.07.

May be numbers 0001001 to 0100000 i.e. 99,000 more copies, im addition to the initial release of 1,000 copies only. Normal channels, larger volumes, kill the black market current asking $1,000 to $2,000 om eBay. Then very disappointed fans will be pleased, and everyone will be happy. It is a long time to wait until the new album is being released in July.

When I asked Gemini the list of the stores in the USA that sold the vinyl it gave me: Kansas City, Denver, NYC, Los Angeles and Natchez. 5 cities. Not DC although it was on the website list. The DC store is not operating anymore.

Hopefully you searched further with -noai to help.

It's a recording from 2025-26, produced in 2026 by a producer who's 35-36 years old. I don't understand how people in 2026 expect albums to sound like they did in 1972, more than half a century ago.

That is an incredible point of view about brickwalling, which is the very essencec of the Loudness Wars: you're right, it doesn't have much to do with te loudness wars these days, it has ALL TO DO WITH IT.

Al Jourgensen did it on purpose for the early 1990s Ministry releases but otherwise it has ruined the listening experience with digital releases, of which at least Apple has some control over since Apple requires specific mastering and vinyl can't be brickwalled to print.

Brickwalling has ruined listening to music.
