I think the song rips and is fun and unpretentious and will age very well. They’re not playing it safe they threw down a raucous little number. Let’s enjoy it.

This has been an excellent 10 days, starting with the April Fool's Day joke possibilities, watching all of the guessing and detective work, and trying to sus out the meanings.
I was 270 miles away from the closest record store that was identified for USA, so I knew I would not get the vinyl. I was happy for you'all's info on the MP3 on RocksOff, and have been playing it for hours on repeat. It is GREAT!! I have always wanted more harmonica from Mick!
At this point in their lives, we are just lucky that they still want to do this and that they are still able to. That will not always be the case.
Let's enjoy what brought us here, while we can.
Back to lurking....

A great song (for me), the harp, the raw sound, the riff... It's certainly no PIB, Gimme Shelter, or JJF, but better than many other new songs.
Now (with the lyrics), the references on the Cockroaches website to the ballet dancer or the Natchez Mississippi postcard make sense; it's all contained within the lyrics.
The marketing was insane. Clearly, it's not something everyone can participate in (traveling miles, getting lucky to buy the single etc.), but from simply distributing the album through various internet channels, to the coordinate search, to the selection of specific record stores (it's remarkable that no large chains like Virgin Megastores, Media Markt, Saturn, Spotify and other streaming plattforms etc., were included, but rather small vinyl shops)—I found it all very well done.
Of course, not everyone can get lucky with their purchase, and it's also understandable that there was abuse, like those crazy eBay offers for several hundred euros/dollars.
The marketing was insane. But otherwise, for me (as just an observer) it was a very exciting story and I'm looking forward to the new album - I'll probably like "Rough And Twisted" better than the first real single with video in rock-pop style.
