I would like to see AdP in Washington DC in September at the Atlantis a small club(400 capacity). Right now no ticket at face value are available.On the Secondary Market, the prices are over $500 (I believe original prices was $45). I have never seen a situation like that. A band very quickly getting super hot, little bit of tickets available, prices to the roof.
My goal is to try to find 2 tickets for the September show at no more than $200 each. Anybody has a strategy to how to operate in that situation? Thank you.

As you can tell, the problem isn't resellers but just no tickets available. Those might not even be brokers but fans daring you to make the payoff for them to miss the show.

I know it's a whole different scale but last night Masayoshi Takanaka played a super sold out high resale value show at the Hollywood Palladium. Roll up ticketless before doors, start going down the line asking people and had a free one within 5 mins. Did not see a single other person working the line. Go to where the people with tickets are.

Now there were reports of people going ticketless to Club Soda a few weeks ago and both striking out and getting in. Bring positive energy and don't look or act desperate. Make sure every knows you are looking but be friendly, not too loud or aggressive, smile etc as to not make a poor impression on the people working the door.

But they will be back. They will just do the underplay and smaller paydays knowing they can book bigger places and people will conditioned to buy early when the stakes are higher and sellouts are not assured.

I don't know about your strategy but if I want to go I just buy a ticket and go. Running around outside trying to hustle a free or $5 ticket seems like more of a hassle than it is worth. Maybe once a year but every show? I have better things to do than that and unless its GA I want specific seats.

A show in DC was added on September the 17th at the Lincoln theater. It sold out in minutes and I was not able to get a ticket. When I logged in at Ticketmaster website few minutes after the sale started, I was told there were 47000 persons in front of me... then sold out. WTF!Still no ticket for me.

Quarter note bends are essentionally microtonal. Next time I hear an Eric Clapton solo im going to say "did you hear that microtoal bend and the beginning of that solo". My friends would tell me to "shut the H""" up.
