I don't know so much about Joe South.
But I fell for "Games People Play", in its time, possibly 1969. A wonderful song it is. I have to admit that I am uncertain now, if I bought the single or a compilation/an album with the song on. I think it was an album. There was also the song "Mirror of Your Mind". (Blush! But where did I put it?)

Added: I searched and found that I have one album called INTROSPECT.

Joe South is awesome and really forgotten - sad because he was a terrific guitar player, singer and songwriter ,-- he was also a Nashville cat - one of the great Nashville studio guys - he played on Dylan's Blonde on Blonde album
