Perhaps it's from the acetate of rough mixes for Apple Records.
I've often heard of the "Apple Acetates" but I don't know their place in Stones history. Were they shopping for a new label? I be fascinated to learn the story.
I can't find anything online but I swear I read in Goldmine decades ago that the Stones were considering signing with Apple Records - or it was Wyman's fantastic book ROLLING WITH THE STONES - as one of their options for a future record label but I guess it makes sense as to why Apple Records would be given a rough mix master of the live album before it was finished being overdubbed if that is the case.
Unless it was something the Stones thought to bugger off Decca and Klein and create some chaos.
In all the books I have about the Stones I don't ever recall reading about it - with the possible exception as said above - and compared to some people here my amount of books about the Stones pales significantly however as I do have some that are a bit off some are fantastic and highly regarded etc. Nor do I recall anyone ever talking about it.
This is a test pressing of the first mix of what was later to become the "Get Your Ya-Ya's Out" album. There are many differences between this mix and what actually ended up getting released.[
