I haven't listened to any of the remixes, released as B-sides.

As far as I recollect, these are the tracks I have only listened to a mere handful of times, or not all all:

Everybody Needs Somebody To Love - 'Zzzz' (5-minute version)
Going Home - only the first few minutes
Sing This Song All Together (See What Happens) - maybe the first 30 seconds?
Melody - simply not 'my thing'
Emotional Rescue
Continental Drift - maybe the first minute-or-so
Suck on The Jugular - maybe the first 30 seconds?
Might As Well Get Juiced - I'm not even sure how it goes; I just know it's bad.
Thief In The Night - not my cup of tea
Losing My Touch - Zzzz
Infamy - Zzzz
Hurricane - ??

Edit: goodness; what's Keith done wrong? confused smiley

Here I find both major and minor favourites of mine drinking smiley

From THE ROLLING STONES vol 2 (UK) "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love". Wow!
From AFTERMATH "Goin' Home".
On EMOTIONAL RESCUE all songs to me are either very good and some outright great. Then also the title song.
STEEL WHEELS' for me only great song "Continental Drift". Wow again!
" Might As Well Get Juiced" that is one of the triple songs, together with "Saint of Me" and "Always Suffering", which the three of them for me create a quite mighty sequence on BRIDGES TO BABYLON between them with their contrasts.
"Thief in the Night" I find facinating in its kind of soft heaviness

I'd better abstain from commenting on the other posts in this thread as well..

Too many to mention. Some even when once was too much.

The entire Between The Buttons album (the UK version, the US version has some nice songs on it).
Pretty much anything from TSMR except She's A Rainbow, Citadel, The Lantern and 2000 Light Years From Home.
Most of Dirty Work except One Hit, Harlem Shuffle, Winning Ugly (yes, I know, but I like it).

Post DW, most albums don't thrill me much. It's almost easier to name the songs that I *did* listen to more than 4 or 5 times. (Thief In The Night is an all time favorite. There are a few other ones...)

There is no an officially released Stones song that I have only listened once or twice. Unofficial yes (most of bootleg stuff is just curiosity stuff to be listened once or twice).

What goes listing Stones songs I like the least, well.. I have never constructed such a list and feel not like start reflecting such a thing either now. Probably one could go through Rene's Track Talk threads and pick up the ones I seem to like the least. Most likely one might find them on VOODOO LOUNGE and A BIGGER BANG albums.

It is like 'hey, let's discuss The Beatles!'. Sorry, no interest.winking smiley

It´s a weird thread. In this actual world with all the stuff going on (there was always something going on in the news in my 64 years on this earth - wars. murders, earthquakes, accidents, child abuse and, and, and) in this world IORR, my love for music and for the Stones is kind of a shelter island where I can dive away from the present and get positive vibes.
So when something appears here with a negative vibe I scroll on. Or criticize it. Like now:
This thread doesn't lead me anywhere unless to bad mood.
Good bye.

I enjoy these discussions, because they show how different our tastes are.

Somme tracks that I don't like are considered by others worthy of a "best since exile" nomination. And many of the songs mentioned in this thread I truly love

Discussions are also usually more interesting when opinions differ and sometimes it is good to know that our personal convictions are not gospel.

Most important, I think that a Rolling Stones fan should be tough enough to be able to hold a heated discussion without tacking it too personal and smart enough to know that it IS only rock and roll after all, and no matter how distant an opinion can be, nothing is so serious that it can't be cured by a beer.

None. To test myself I listened to the whole of Dirty Work last night and didn't feel the need to skip any track. I might listen to it again tonight.

There were four songs on a, I don't remember which, comprehensive compilation, that I did not buy. I, who don't buy compilations, if they do not contain new material, felt irritated at the time by having to buy all that stuff to gain four songs. Also hoping for a separate release a little later. (I would have bought the compilation now to obtain the songs). I think I have had a most distracted listening to those songs once during a visit. ( I do not remember even their titles.) Besides, I have remained in the vinyl universe. The original vinyl VOODOO LOUNGE did not include "Mean Disposition". One distracted listening to that as well. I have not rebought the album in a later version, which allegedly features that song. And I have not bought all Vaults releases, not always aware of them, probably may have lost songs thereby. In addition, I have only got the first five solo albums by Ron Wood.

Out of what I have got, I listen to all songs when they are due in my arranged listening order, also "Melody" and "Tops" and the whole album CROSSEYED HEART. When I acquired the latter album, I made myself listen to it 30 times as an introduction. Simply because Keith is one ot the two of Jagger & Richards. It was a relief when I had finished. - But two solo albums by Bill Wyman and the compilation METAMORPHOSIS (not a Stones release, I think) I have stopped to listen to.

while I agree that anything can be open to discussion I am a bit critical that there can be a fruithful conversation based on songs people don't listen almost at all. Like DandelionPowderman said how can one even have an opinion if one doesn't listen it in the first place?

For me if I skip something after just having one listening or two it means that the music doesn't move me at all. It leaves no tracks. It is not meant for me. What there is to say about it then? Basically nothing else than 'it is not my thing'. I don't see any point or motivation to explore that any further (more than that of hitting my head on wall). Or explicate that to anyone else. But I am keen on talking about the stuff I am listening to and into to.

So I see something odd in the premise of this thread.

Well, perhaps as credit to us, so far this thread has stayed civilised!
And I agree, it is interesting to see what songs some don't care for - some of which are big favourites of mine.

Years ago I listened to TSMR a good bit. Then I got ahold of something else and forgot about it. Since then... similar with a lot of their earlier material - after so many spins there's better ways to spend time listening. As heralded as Little Red Rooster is it's not necessary to listen to compared to Stop Breaking Down, for one example.

I listened to Goin' Home a few times years ago and it was boring, a bizarre song on a solid album. Having listened to it again recently it's even more boring.

Here's where there's a twist I suppose: years ago I got BUTTONS and after a few spins I put it away. Two years ago I got the reissue and I like it much more now. Made TSMR into an EP.

Etc. I see people say they don't like BUTTONS because it's too English or too Dylan. OK. That's an interesting way to approach listening to it. Yet Miss Amanda Jones is possibly the first punk song ever. It's a goofy album, a band finding a different direction with various influences coming out, unlike TSMR, which is really good songs with a bunch of noise because they wanted to get rid of Andrew.

Or they were drugged out. Whatever it is, the results are poor compared to BUTTONS except for the good songs.

So threads that offer up different points of view other than THE STONES ARE THE BEST etc can be interesting and sometimes educational depending on how one chooses to approach said song or album that is... of course it's all subjective and only relevant to the listener if it's good, not because it's whatever modern or some era making it "because" - if it's good it's good. The opposite is automatically there with other.
