Wonder if we might see Keith at the induction ceremony, for Gram. Or maybe Mick too, for Jimmy Miller.

I don't give a rats either..

Michael Hutchence was a great front man...

Emmylou Harris is another possibility.

Come on! -- to quote that Berry song. Emmylou will be and should be the one. Or how about McGuinn or Hillman? Keef?! Hmm...

Gram Parsons’ Daughter Says He Would Have Worn ‘The Most Fantastical Outfit’ to Rock Hall

Polly Parsons talks her dad’s legacy, honoring his 80th birthday this year, and how a biopic on his life would be “a blockbuster”

By Angie Martoccio

April 14, 2026

Excerpt from Polly's interview:

Keith Richards, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, Steve Earle, Jim James, and more all wrote heartfelt letters of recommendation on behalf of Gram. What was it like reading those?

I loved hearing the essence of the person writing it. Elvis Costello’s letter was mindblowing. It was amazing to see the kindness and the generosity of heart. I think the meaningful shit is meaningful. I think the meaningful moments in life — which this is one of — are really special on so many different levels that can’t be seen from the surface.

You first met Keith in the early 2000s, right?

I did, and it was a really special experience for me. From my perspective, I was looking at my father’s best friend. I was looking at this man that really knew my dad and really cared for my dad and perpetuated my father’s legacy throughout his lifetime. So that meeting for me was just super special.

Have you guys been in touch throughout the years?

No, we haven’t. Talking to Keith Richards is not something you get to do all the time, but he is always extremely responsive to me and very loving.

Iron Maiden inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for 2026

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation have announced Iron Maiden as one of its inductees for 2026.

Quote from Rod Smallwood on behalf of Iron Maiden:

“We’d like to thank the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for including us (and former members who were all part of our story) in the 2026 roll call of inductees. Iron Maiden have always been about our relationship with our fans above anything else, including awards and industry accolades. However, having said that, it’s always nice to be recognised and honoured for any achievements within the music industry too!

It also seems appropriate for the band to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year as we continue our 50th anniversary celebrations with our Run For Your Lives World Tour visiting the Americas and beyond. We would also like to congratulate our fellow 2026 inductees and extend our gratitude as ever to our fans for their loyalty, perseverance and support for over 50 years now! See you all, somewhere on tour.”

Bullshit institution, but good for Iron Maiden getting in. They'll be on tour in Australia at the time of the ceremony so they won't be there. Honestly even if they weren't on tour I feel they wouldn't show, after being so unfairly snubbed after all this time. 50/50 on whether Oasis show. I could see Noel showing. Liam's post, understandably and predictably, reads as sarcastic. Couldn't tell ya if Phil shows. Good that in his current condition he gets yet another accolade. He's an important figure in music whether you like him or not, but not sure if he's strong enough to travel/sit through that night. I guess Billy Idol will be fun to bust out Rebel Yell and White Wedding, but he's definitely a third tier rocker to me. I'd be putting him in from the current crop but not if I was actually thinking he was worthy. The rest kinda mean nothing to me and aren't rock and roll.

In: Billy Idol

Not In: John Mayall, Harry Nilsson, Mott the Hoople

Three inarguably transcendent bodies of work with still-reverberating legacies.

And then there is Billy Idol.

Mick was in the video. I feel it’s different if it’s not someone they’re honoring in the show and their spouse is speaking. I get why they wouldn’t show up just to intro a video. Depends if there was would be a performance or speech to follow.

Exactly. Everyone is kissing butt to the Hall. I cannot believe that while most of us find this institution ridiculous, they find it the best thing in the world. Like getting in the Hall will change the way we look at Iron Maiden.

And then there is Billy Idol. If he gets in, why not Bonnie Tyler? Haha. And no INXS. Hmm...

Liam’s sarcasm is shining through, there. I wonder whether Oasis will bother to show up? I’d wager they will, but would hope they wouldn’t. The R&R HOF isn’t particularly rock n’ roll, anyway.

To me, Oasis will show if they induct Gem Archer and Andy Bell with the band. Having said that, based on the past, I DON'T think the Hall Of Fame will do that and will only induct the guys from the first 3 albums, cause that's really the only ones that matter. And I think that's gonna piss Noel and Liam off so they won't attend if the Hall doesn't reverse their decision.

I feel I've only heard of Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers stepping in for their inductions (Metallica insisted Trujillo go in with them and RHCP insisted on Klinghoffer, even though neither had been on an album yet?) and the Hall acquiesced because they wanted them to show. I think Pearl Jam would have had that power too to get one of their drummers in but they had a falling out with him so I don't think they tried, which I judge them for cause he deserved it more than their original drummer that was only on Ten.

Plenty of times though the Hall has just done what they wanted. Only doing original KISS 4 (which I agree with, but that's kinda besides the point), no Dio with Black Sabbath (again, I don't disagree but its still a little crazy). With Deep Purple they left out some key small people like Tommy Bolin and Nick Simper. They screw it up a lot and just adds to the insulting nature of the place.

EDIT: it looks like Gem and Andy are part of the induction, so I do think Oasis shows up.

Both Gem Archer and Andy Bell deserve to be with them, in my opinion. Whilst it’s the 1994-1997 period is the most remembered and revered, both artistically and culturally, Gem and Andy were part of the Oasis lineup for about a decade, contributing through songwriting and - for many - upping the level of musicianship. Also, Little By Little and Stop Crying Your Heart Out were both absolute monster hits back in 2002, with the former being a mainstay in last year’s set-list.

Well, that’s every ‘official member’, past and present, I think. I hope Tony McCarroll gets to go. There’s been a renewed appreciation for him of late.

According to Gene Simmons the RARHOF is a joke.

Aside from his point of view, which means zero since he sells coffins and dolls, it is a joke.
