Convinced the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a social experiment aimed at increasing blood pressure of boomers.

as i posted for last years thread
induct steppenwolf!
yes i understand they don't have enough hits or influence but still i insist particularly in light of who they seem to think qualify for potential inclusion

On September 2, 1995 I drove from DC to Cleveland to see the 7hour show for the opening of the Hall of Fame. It was fantastic. I visited the museum several times. I enjoy the place very much. I don't worry about who is selected and when as eventually all the musicians who have the credentials will be inducted because at one point they are going to run out of options. Just be patient.

It is hard to believe that New Edition is on top... They have got a bigger fan base than Iron Maiden or The Black Crowes or even Phil Collins? Oasis, anyone?
I am surprised that Pink is this popular. I thought she was a few-hit-wonder who has not got much to her name. Why should I think she is a singer with a great legacy?
I just do not get it.

I've never heard of 'New Edition', admittedly.
Pink had a few sizeable hits way back when; some pretty good. IMO, she certainly doesn't belong on this list, though! Oasis do deserve to be inducted.

I don't think its that New Edition or Pink have bigger fan bases than Iron Maiden or Phil Collins. I think its that Iron Maiden and Phil Collin's fanbases are less online or see the futility of needing to do this. I do think for "younger" bands they just want to get involved in online campaigns more regularly.

I think you make a good point.
