What is next for Mick Jagger - 2026 and on?

If the Stones are truly finished as a touring band, what is next for Mick Jagger? Jagger is in great physical shape and still has creative possibilities. Does Jagger finding a new backing group for a tour? New Solo material?

To be honest, no. I would imagine that Mick Jagger’s life outside of Stones activity will only continue in the same manner after the Stones fully cease. He has a younger wife, and more importantly, a young child. It’d only be the appropriate thing for him to devote time to that; oh, and attending cricket and football matches.

Mick Jagger did only one solo-tour. He is not interested in performing on the stage outside the Stones, apart from a few apperances as a guest now and then. He is 82 years old now, and he will probably concentrate on enjoying life with his family.

i don't know about that

if the urge to perform strikes him and the stones aren't there as an outlet as they have been for a very long time he may put a tour together himself

you know as long as he's still physically able

as for something like a solo album i also think that's far from impossible

with all the recording sessions the last few years with the stones he might have some stuff leftover that wouldn't work for a stones album

not to mention the what 100 plus demos he brought andrew watt a few years ago

though i agree his family will probably take priority for him as it should

still i hope we won't see the last of mick jagger as a performer and creative person after the new albums released

If he were successful with it, or had been successful, he would be interested in going on tour solo or with another band.

He could release SuperHeavy part 2 with his supergroup

Had he taken most of the songs from Wandering Spirit and half the songs from Primitive Cool and used them on Stones album they would have been considered a success.

I read somewhere on here I think he’s not guested on stage with anyone (singing, Judi dench and the Oscar’s don’t count) for 10 years+

maybe. But my point is that Jagger's solo tour wasn't successful enough and he didn't tour the markets that really matter (i.e the US, UK, Europe)

Was the last person he guested with Taylor Swift in 2015 in Nashville?

He's always been interested in film, might see more of that, either behind the scenes or on camera or on soundtrack

It's an entirely different world than in 1988 when he realized outside of music starved locales like Indonesia there is lot less demand for a Mick Jagger solo tour than Robert Plant who he would be competing with that summer if any US tour went forward.

I really doubt a Mick Jagger and Friends, at 2 shows a week and requiring about the same amount of prep as a Stones tour would realistically be a full time endeavor .

In the US outside of NYC and LA, he would playing the 5000 seat mid size sheds that Ringo was playing 10 years ago and maybe selling only selling out some of them.

Wouldn't rule out limited engagements or a 1 time Glastonbury "Legacy" set or a major MSG career retrospective gala with other superstars.

Mick, with a new band, would fill stadiums in many countries around the world, in Brazil or Argentina he would fill stadiums of 60,000 people in minutes, the same in many European countries, not to mention Australia or Japan where the Stones haven't been for years; a little more doubtful in the United States but he would surely have no problem filling arenas.

The problem is:

1 - He's 82 years old
2 - He hasn't done a solo tour in 38 years
3 - He hasn't done a full solo show since 1993 or a partial one since 2001
4 - He hasn't been a guest performer since Taylor Swift in 2015, more than 10 years ago
5 - He hasn't been on stage in almost 2 years

At this age, every day of inactivity makes it harder to get back on the game.

Yes, it's very likely we'll see a new solo album from Mick in no more than 1-2 years; he must have enough material to fill 5 albums just from what he's written in the last 10 years.

Well, first thing is to market the Stones' album later this year. Maybe even producing a video for the release?

I believe Mick would do something occasionally, even if it's just films or short appearances. I Don't believe he's the type of guy that's going to walk away from it.

Mick is 83 years this summer. He has got some physical issues, like his foot, heart and back. Modern medicine do make wonders, but is he a risk taker? Does he want to spend more time with his young kid and partner in life, who might not have him with them for decades to go?

A tour do take time to prepare, both with The Stones and solo. I assume he has focus on his band, the Stones, until Keith call it quits.

Maybe we should all just leave the guy alone. Learn to live without him. And them.

I could imagine him releasing another solo album. He writes songs constantly and could probably record a solo album pretty quickly with a backup band.

Maybe he can start writing his biography, which he started in the 80s. He said he wouldn't do it until he was very old, even older than Buddy Holly. So now I think that could be possible.

But after that, he refused several times to finish writing his memoirs - [www.NME.com] . In 2024, Mick allegedly turned down a deal estimated to be worth around £20 million to write his autobiography - [UK.News.Yahoo.com] .

Why “later” this year? It’s apparently mixed and at the pressing plants. Get the dang thing out. NONE of us is getting any younger. NONE of us…

Due to no tour in 2026. And while it's already mid-February, there still seems to be no firm decision on the album's release in spring 2026. Looks more like a release as in 2023 now.

I believe Mick still gets excited by new musical projects adapted to his abilities. Stepping on a stage in front of an enthusiastic audience must be a thrill when you know that you can still deliver and please the people. I believe as long as Mick is shape he will be game to keep on rocking to our pleasure and his.

He has to live in the past for a long time, he doesn't feel like that. He doesn't care about the past, Mick is still very young and looks to the future.

Yeah. But it's questionable if he'll write his autobiography because of that.

I always assumed the heart issue was permanently solved with his 2019 surgery when he got a new heart valve. But I trust you as a source enough to believe all that.

With that in mind, even more amazing how he managed to do those spectacular performances in 2024 and before that.

If he’s got plenty of time in the future maybe that might change.

I even think for the legacy of the Stones - the world needs to hear the other side of the story.

The general public only knows Keith’s side which is only half of the story. Only Stones nerds know Mick‘s perspective to all that WW3 stuff.

I would appreciate being able to know Mick's side of the story, as well as his perspective on life. But I think he'd like to remain somewhat private. Maybe he'll do it and not let it get released until he's passed? Just a guess.
