Was hoping to catch them in Norway this summer for old times sake. In '79 and '80 they played every Thursday at a local club. Better to cancel tour than to die onstage.
time flies i remember listening to " i wanna rock" on a cassette tape it sounded so loud i was thoroughly impressed with what is around these days it would classify as fairly mellow and decidedly mainstream
I was also surprised that after 10 years of "retiring" they decided to come back out. Not that every other band isn't doing the same, but they seemed serious and it seemed like the moment for them to come back had passed.
What legitimately changed in the last 2 months that they now had to cancel? Had they not really known he could do this earlier? I get it, when you're older stuff can change in a day, but I'm surprised they agreed to do this and got it all set up if they weren't 100% sure Dee could handle it.
Sad that that must be a pretty nice payday they are missing out on. And that they could have cashed in on years ago when he was still physically able. I'm guessing they aren't hurting for money becuase otherwise I'd think they'd have jumped earlier, but who knows.
Sad that this is the end for them with a whimper. Kinda like if you knew this would be cancelled in 2 months, just never announce the return.
