Only bad losers claim Norway is cheating. It is just sad to hear it. Klæbo is unique, and he might end up with 2-3 more gold medals, in addition to his two gold medals already won with a clear margin during these Olympics (he is just 29 yesrs old, so he will be around for more years. The reason Norway, with half the population of Sweden, and 2% of the US population, is money. We have oil and fish, and and with the Lillehammer olympics, and on, there has been a lot of funding in top athletic details, like ski preparations. Also, all the kids have a dream in Norway; to be the next Haaland, Klæbo or Johaug.
It was 17/100 of a second between gold and bronze in 5,000 meters female speed skating. Norway got the bronze, without cheating. A guy from North Odal in Norway, wan gold medal on the same speed skating distance, because his parents spent all their income for driving him to and back from the skating rink in Hamar, built fog the 1994 winter Olympics in Norway.
I am surprised why some spend time on blaming Norway for cheating. The ski jumpers did take a shortcut a few years ago, but they lost a little of goodwill in Norway, still, ski jumping favour special bodies, like basketball.
Women make less money from winter sports, same for other sports. Not long ago Norway had the best national tram in hand ball. Not because of cheating, but because equal rights have been the practice for decades in Norway.
Sure it is frustrating for the Niskanen brother and sister to have the Norwegians and Swedish to beat, but they do not chest, they arr all at an extremely high level. Also, it helps that winter spotts and football is first priority fir any Norwegian child, and their parents, and grandparents parents.

You forgot to mention that they got permission from FIS to use the stuff. It's not Norway's fault that FIS didn't inform the other nations?
A very unfortunate incident, yes, but not even remotely cheating.

Oh, yeah, propably is the money BV talks about that for some particular nation FIS is doing favors while for others not. Is that fair? "Well, shit happens, you bad losers".
What I find odd is that even no doubt Norwegians are physically and seemingly mentally superior to others, they still need to use tricks like that.

Hey Rockman - snow is fun. You can make snowballs and throw on people. Or igloos to live in if you want to. Beware of the polar bears though. They can be pretty mean...

I would advice everyone to keep a positive mind.
Desloges from France made a mistake some days ago, but the jury looked into it and gave him a yellow card, He kept his well deserved silver medal, which I and most others think was fair. He won nothing from his mistake, even if it might have been a technical reason for loosing the medal.
Worse with the Ukranian athletic who was banned from competing with his helmet with poictures of fallen athlets, but rules are rules, the FIS manager said with tears in her eyes.
Today a skier broke one of his skis in two pieces, when falling in the "slush snow" slope, may be he was from South Africa. Then soon there were three staff people with a new pole and a new ski. It seems like they are working on doing the best for all competitors, not just for the top nations.

I have mixed feelings on Canada's goalie. He's my favorite goalie for my hometown team but having a horrible year in the NHL which I thought might help team USA.
But he seems to have risen to the occasion. Hoping this translates to a better remainder of the NHL season after the Olympics.

In order to make success in winter sports you do need to check out on a number of important points:
1. Winter with mountains, skiing tracks and culture
2. High number of recruits i e young athlets
3. Funding
4. Parents who care
Denmark and The Netherlands fail on number one, but NL have frozen canals all over and a long skating culture so they check high on all numbers.
Sweden, Finland, USA, Canada etc check high on all but if other sports like ice hockey or football etc take more focus - then they will lack recruits. I remember a friend from Sweden said Norway got a lot of medals in Lillehammer 1994, but Sweden got 25 in hockey (one for each player).
There is not much to do in Norway during winter. Our fotball season is in summer not in winter like other countries, so lots of kids ski in winter.
France, Austria, Italy, Germany and many others check on all of the above and they do great in winter sports, but as the climate is changing then winter sports will change a lot over the years to come.
