I'm not sure how you feel about the production on Primitive Cool, imo it hasn't aged well, if it was well in the first place, I say this because if you listen to Daves lastest posting he is playing some Mick vocals, so I wonder what is in the works

After the release of the Stones' new album this year, I wouldn't be surprised at all by a new Mick solo album. He must have enough material to fill three or four albums, and if he wants, he can collaborate with any current artist who would never say no to the legend. With the Stones it's more difficult, but Mick could do duets with Morgan Wallen, Harry Styles, SZA, Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa...whoever he really wants to.

That is one reason why Elton John has 70+ million followers while the Stones have 27 million. It's not the only reason; John has more hit songs, period. But it's a big reason.

I'm sure that has crossed Mick's mind.

Problem is, I just don't trust his judgment when it comes to collaborating with young, trendy artists. Half-heartedly working with Rob Thomas on "Visions of Paradise" to try to capture the Santana magic -- nice song, but how'd that work out?

"T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)" with will.i.am? Ugh. Dreck.

SuperHeavy? Interesting concept. But no one cared about Joss Stone anymore, and most people had not heard of A.R. Rahman. You can't be a supergroup with those ingredients.

I love Mick's restless energy and insatiable appetite for creativity and relevance. I just wish he knew how to direct it more wisely.

I have virtually all of Mick's solo releases but if he did an album of duets with these artists, I wouldn't buy or stream it.

I think Superheavy is the best stuff Mick has done outside the Stones. What sticks as popular or not doesn't always mean its good or bad. Look at what is popular today.

Throwaway,Say You Will, Radio Control,War Baby(Music), are all good

I like Kow Tow, the title track, shoot off your mouth, party dull, peace for the wicked. Throwaway. I listen the other day it was surprised how much I enjoyed it.
I was inspired to listen to God similarly surprised how much of that I enjoyed…

Mick has already played with Taylor at one of her concerts, and she's shown up at their shows too. It was fine, but I don't think we need more of Mick playing with the youngsters. Grandpa Mick doing his normal moves with 26 year old Sabrina Carpenter. I don't know, I think it would be too weird. Its one thing when she's doing a basically unplugged performance with Paul Simon.

Can be interesting another collaboration with Dave Stewart. I love what they did the Alfie soundtrack did. Some great songs

I did like the first three albums along with the work on "Alfie." That said, they're somewhere in the mediocre category when compared to the better half of the Stones discography. "Goddess In The Doorway," I bought and listened to once.

I will say I think "Old Habits Die Hard" ranks with some of his best solo work, "best" of course being relative.

I played "She's The Boss" a great deal when it was released, then again, it was only competing with "Undercover" and later "Dirty Work" for my Stones fix.

But compared to "Talk Is Cheap," IMHO, they all lose out.

Jagger's main concern has been the Stones for a long time (his personal interests have seen to go in hand with the interests of the band), but if it turns out that the Stones are not able to tour any longer and the new album do not sell incredibly well (or if there is no tour in horizon, would the Stones really bother again), it might be even a logical step for him to do something on his own. If he still has the will and the drive.

The world, and the place and status of the Stones within it, is pretty different now than it was a quarter century ago when was the last time Jagger released a solo album. And if we go back to the premises of WWIII, like we always do here in IORR, the kids he failed to charm with his solo efforts during the 80's are already grandparents... Even the diehard Stones fans who thought him committing a capital crime by going solo are dying off...

Another thing to consider is that the Stones brand is not doing well any more - the band's star is going quickly downhill and only ones seem to care about them are we old diehards - those of us who are still left. Yeah, as a special live act offering an spectacle from the past they seem gather interest among so called 'casual fans' and 'tourists', but for some reason their music is not listened any longer even by those folks. For the sake of their legacy, it could be a good idea to not try to continue their story by whatever means until the last one of us drops off. So maybe Mick doing something on his own, out of the box, might work better also for the band.

I think 50 years from now people will still be listening to their classic songs and albums.Problem is most people don’t have a high opinion of almost any of their post1981 music.When the band is no more someday , I think their music will take on a new allure.That was the thing about the Beatles they broke up after less than10years.Their last album they recorded was maybe their best.Had they stayed together another 10 years,I sincerely doubt they would have been anywhere as good
