I actually like Ronnie's solo work better than Keith's

I am not that familiar with Ronnie's solo works and what I've heard didn't impress me much, except for Seven Days, which is a very good version (maybe almost better than Dylan's version).

Here's a question for the collective:

I've been playing along with "Slide on This." On a handful of the tracks (Must Be Love, Knock Your Teeth Out, Fear for Your Future, Thinkin'), Ronnie is tuned down a half-step. Had he done on this on prior solo albums? I don't think it was to accommodate Bernard on vocals, as he did just fine singing in "guitar keys" with the Stones.

Anyone have any insights? Mathijs?
