The UK and the US, I get but Argentina seems oddly specific.

What a horrible article

''Fans were divided, with some feeling it was time the 'Strolling Bones', as they are jokingly called,''

Sjeez... ??

However it would not suprise me if this is the way forward. There have been rumours before about doing more gigs in a few cities (London, Paris where mentioned a few years ago).

The Argentina thing is specific and it would not suprise me at all if they are talking about this. But even if so, then a lot of boxes need to be checked before this will happen. Bv mentioned a band meeting IIRC in the near future. Anyway, I take every hope there is.

There were recently opinions that the times of 14-20 shows are over .... and now there're suddenly residencies in US, UK and Argentina?

Quote from the above Daily Mail article: "The idea is that they will do a week 'on' and then a fortnight off between gigs".

This could nevertheless mean 3 weeks rehearsals with one week off after that = 1 month.

Then for instance 1 week with 4 shows (Sun, Tue, Thu, Sat) in the US, after that two weeks off. Another week with 4 shows in UK, two weeks off after. Plus a week with 4 shows in Argentina.

That's already over two months with 12 shows. There must also be a certain amount of shows to make it economically feasible.

I have two words to say to this...

Daily Mail.

As UK people will know, the Daily Mail is very far from a reliable source of information, typically full misinformation and downright lies.

(Of course, even a stopped clock is right twice a day, so perhaps there might be some truth, but I would take it with a pinch of salt)

This US/AR/UK concept could work, despite 12 shows.

They could rehearse in/around New York and Keith could stay at home in Connecticut at that time. If they do 4 shows in/around New York, Keith could also stay at home during this time. Keith would only have to travel to Argentina and London (UK) for one week each. He could stay there in the same hotel. All this wouldn't be too much stress despite 12 shows.

There are ideas about doing something similar to 2012 but with a few more shows, say four shows in the US and four shows in England, and then seeing how to proceed after that. The album is scheduled for release in May, so a run of four shows followed by another run of four shows after the World Cup wouldn't be unreasonable.

In Argentina, they could fill five or more stadiums in a matter of hours without any problem (AC/DC sold out three stadiums in less than four hours). Logistics would be the biggest obstacle, and the shows would have to be scheduled closer to the end of the year.

Argentina .... Paul McCartney played 3 shows there in 2024 - [www.PaulMcCartney.com] . AC/DC also plays 3 shows in 2026 there - [www.ACDC.com] .

If they are not ready or up for an Euro Tour with rehearsels and everything else i also don't expect a residency at one location.
I face the facts the touring days are over and i don't believe they are gonna do a residency. The article in the Gossip Mail is rubbish

Mick doesn't like residencies, but a string of four shows in the same venue over 12-15 days isn't a residency per se, and if it's the only way to keep doing live shows and have everyone agree, I don't see why it shouldn't be the path forward until they can or want to.

They already tried it in 2012, and also with those three or four shows in October 2016; those are valid precedents.

You mean "according to Alison Boshoff" ? And if you believe any of the claptrap that usually emanates from her, then you're a mug ! She has an impressive record of writing rubbish about the Stones, at least that's my observation over the years !

It could be difficult to reserve a venue for 12 to 15 days. Maybe this one week show / two weeks off concept works better in that regard.

Touring days are over, not necessarily live shows.

In georgelicks we trust.

I think we can take that as a given ........

As for one-offs here and there ? Maybe ? But a big maybe I'd venture to say ...

That's why they are looking for places that can be booked for 12-15 days; there aren't many, but they are looking for options.

Ok, maybe they'll find some. They could also use their own temporary venue like Hamburg 2017 or like Adele did in Munich 2024.

Could be a 'rusty' experience .... like Hamburg 2017. And how long have they to rehearse for just one show?

so what? Macca played more than 70 shows on his Got Back tour (2022-2025) and ACDC some 60 shows on their Power Up tour (2024-2025) and have announced 28 shows for 2025. The Stones n the other hand did only 35 shows between 2022 and 2024

Tottenham stadium seems to be free after 15 July (until maybe a week before the football season starts on 15 August). I'm not aware of limits on the number of shows there.

Wembley's pretty busy.

There's a gap at the O2 arena, end of July.

But then they would be rehearsing during the final stages of the World Cup.

Keep on dreaming I guess

So for the US, football stadiums or large indoor facilities?

From the closed "The Rolling Stones European Tour 2026 is off - What is next?" thread:

A guy on a Shidoobee post on FB just made this comment:

"I have some news from inside the Stones camp but cannot share at this time, but I think people will be pleased when it is announced."
