Has George Licks taken over from Bernard Doherty?
I will stick with the latter and his last statement:
Bernard Doherty has not commented on the next LP being their last.So I am not interested in unfounded rumours.

What I hear is that there will be one last album and "a few final shows" to end their run.
No tour and no residency.
RAH is what I hear. MSG is also a possibility.
To those of you who do not know me, I work for Ticketmaster/ Live Nation. TO those who know me you know my information is legit.
This will be my last post on IORR.
Thanks to BV and others. I have enjoyed the ride.

A new album and plus a couple of shows would be a nice and apt ending to all of this.
For me it has been a bonus since 2012. It all started like a pure triumph leg going over and over again, but in the end they discovered the creative side from themselves and turned out to be not just a 'nostalgia act' they have deserved to be but a 'living and breathing band' as well. A beautiful final chapter to their incredible story - not just tours and performances re-defining all the boundaries of what aging in rock and roll means and giving so much joy to the people all over the world but three interesting new albums. What a bonus!
So well written story that God must be a Rolling Stones fan.

Royal Albert Hall is too big. How about Ronnie Scott's. perfect sized venue for final show.

C'mon, do you really think Doherty would (be allowed to) say they are finished performing?

Just curious, Doxa, how many shows did you see since 2012?

Question is how does "a few shows" fit together with "staff has been releases, no shows"?

This could fit: no shows in 2026, but release of the new album. Then very few shows in 2027 to celebrate their 65th anniversary. They could do e.g. Glastonbury again, later on Royal Albert Hall and leave it at that.

Guys, I understand that many aren’t optimistic after two years of tour cancellations, but how can you think that the Stones won’t perform live anymore? They still have an album to release… I think we’ll have another chance to see them live. Ozzy managed to do a show two weeks before he passed away, in a wheelchair! Maybe a farewell show like that? Still, I don’t think their last concert was the one in America in 2024.

Technical question: Would they need "their staff" for RAH/MSG shows?
