After reading the article I. think we'll get a deluxe Voodoo Lounge.

It says there are 32 finished cuts and only 15 made the CD

Probably, tracks like
Ivy League
Make It Now
You Got It Made
It's Funny
What It's Like
Allright Charlie/Hands Off
Honest Man
Zip Mouth Angel,
Etc...

There were also a bunch of B-sides that would count towards the 32, The Storm, Jump On Top of Me, I'm Gonna Drive.

32 recorded songs, 15 on the LP.

Of the 32 three were B-sides. So that's 18 finished tracks. Although the boot box suggests You Got It Made got finished it's never been talked about by Keith or Ronnie as far as I recall and no finished version has ever appeared.

They've mentioned, pre-1994, songs that were in progress but that was 1977 and 1982 or 83.

They haven't given anything away since then except recently talking about HACKNEY DIAMONDS having, what, six or eight leftovers, suggesting the next album was 3/4 finished already.

They had the opportunity to do a deluxe VOODOO but instead they just included the 3 B-sides plus a SOME GIRLS leftover. They have a lot of leftovers from other albums they've already reissued deluxe and a lot of those didn't get released.

Nothing past TATTOO YOU probably interests them in regard to a deluxe reissue. With the 2025 BLACK AND BLUE reissue there's a reason to believe that IORR or EMOTIONAL RESCUE could be next, although given what they did for IORR and those leftovers being utilized already, it's unlikely. ER would make sense seeing that they recorded over 40 songs for it, 4 of which ended up on TY.

I would love a deluxe of UNDERCOVER as well. As good as that album sold it's not in the 'classic' time frame. It's unlikely anything post-1981 will get a deluxe reissue. I hope I'm wrong no matter how limited the results could be - six albums that no one really cares about between 1983 and 2005.

Interesting point, GasLightStreet ... "Nothing past TATTOO YOU probably interests them in regard to a deluxe reissue."

That's psychologically clever. The bands knows that the majority of buyers is in the second half of their lifes. They can spend money and will on items personally or individually important/interesting. Consequently, the focos lies on that target group.

We will get a VL Deluxe, that's for sure. Maybe in a few years ... maybe to celebrate the 35 year album anniversary.

I have that magazine somewhere.

To think that because they recorded 32 songs means a deluxe release is eventual - SOME GIRLS had over 60 songs recorded.

I didn't know if there were any outtakes for it, anything worth looking, and then I found there were a few things.

That's astounding. There are enough people on iorr.org that know that there's plenty left and a good bit of what's left is certainly good enough to be released than the entire Rolling Stones organization. How Mick can hear Misty Roads, Fiji Jim, I Love You Too Much and Rotten Roll, as Munich Hilton was called when it was considered in the track list for the album, and decide to write lyrics for blues songs that were record

32 tracks for VL and 15 made the album, which is way too many tracks. But at the time...

We went through a whole thing: Let's make 11, 12 tracks, the normal length of an album. When we did that, there was always a great moan from somebody, You can't take that off. So it went back to 15. Well, why not? We haven't put a new record out since '89. It's five years, for Chrissake. So there's 15 on there and everybody's happy.

Five songs of the deluxe release are tracks recorded after the SG sessions.

The GHS deluxe had a track on it that was recorded after the album was released.

Why they can't stick to the actual sessions for something when there are plenty of tracks available from the sessions is a mystery.
