No, there arent wolves here. Its too far north for them :-)
Sweden has more wolves than Norway. Too bad that some wolves and bears get killed, because they eat sheeps. Theres a lot of fuzz about it here. The farmers want to get rid of all bears, and a lot of people think these farmers are short-sighted.
The elk isnt a problem though. There is A LOT of them, but they behave quite good. Every year, some of them get lost in our neighbourhood. And some elderly women in "my" street dont dare to leave their houses!
Elk taste really good, much better than chicken.
Erik.

hey koen! wow, 2 iorr's in little chapel hill. the Shire reference was a tongue in cheek analogy from Tolkein's Lord of the Rings. quaint Chapel Hill as the Shire (little peaceful hamlet of hobbits) vs. Washington DC as the land of Mordor (non-idyllic headquarters of evil). haha.

yeah, we'll be going back to chapel hill for new year's eve, maybe i'll see you around. i used to work at the Whole Foods Market, and used to play in a band at places like the now-defunct Lizard & Snake and Go! studios, as well as at local 506 and twice at the cat's cradle. it was fun visiting town in October to see the Stones in durham. how long have you lived in Chapel Hill?

Reptile, thanks for posting that pic of Scheveningen; great WINDY memories of visiting there on the 2003 tour the week of the Ahoy show.

That was funny to hear of elks and wolfes and bears - got more animals?
and I don't mean pigeons or sparrows.
I nearly run over a fox on my bicycle, and that was in the middle of Berlin^^

This is an international site - and way cool
very much appreciated

Thanks for the 'Shire' explanation. I've been in CH over 4 years, love WFM and Cradle, also go to the Cave and Weaver Street sometimes. And the Stones in Durham were awesome.
