Didn’t Keith say something like „A stone does not quit except in the casket“ when Bill quit?

Didn't he also said that if you record an album and not tour behind it you've done only half job?

I think there is a reason behind him not touring. It's not a whim. It's not like Keith doesn't feel like touring because he's too old. He's is too professional and too loyal to the Stones. If they spend so much effort, time and money to record the new album it's unlike him to pull the plug in the last moment. There must be a reason behind it.

Fair play. Keef owes us nothing. No doubt the arthritis is just too much.

At the risk of causing riots, if Mick fancied One last outing whilst he felt he still could, and asked Mick Taylor to step in with him Ronnie and Steve Jordan, who’d go? I for one would be very tempted.

No it wouldn’t be the stones (hasn’t truly been the stones since Charlie left us), but it’s darn close and they’d still take a hefty amount out of my pocket for the whole carry on.

Hopefully they find a way to make a few runs in a single location work with keef

I personally think it's due to AC/DC using the trucks, crew and lights, staging, etc. that the Stones usually use. AC/DC just announced those spring/summer dates for 2026, very recently, and they're probably going to add more shows for later in the year in 2026. It feels like they have the momentum going now.

I read an article where the manager of AC/DC said, "I've set them up so they can keep touring with these short tours, for as long as they want to" or something to that effect, so now I think AC/DC has 2026 all locked up as far as crew, staging, logistics, etc. AC/DC just keep adding dates, in batches of 12 or 14 shows, adding new legs to the same tour, with loooong breaks in between tour legs.

The news that Keith doesn't want to tour, certainly changes that perspective a little bit, but my gut feeling is that they tried to put together a tour for 2025, couldn't get it together because of AC/DC having dibs on all the trucks, equipment and logistics, they tried to put together a tour for 2026, couldn't get it together again because of AC/DC, and now they've said $%$# it, and Keith has decided, it's not working, it's time to hang it up.

What Ever Happened To Keith's Motto NO STOPPING?

I still in a bummed shocked mood. I mean in reality the tour is not the whole summer, it was about 2 month's, I know bv does'nt want to talk about ? Anyway just wanted to know, what NO STOPPING really meant, because I hung my hat on that formula, Until I know it was impossible to doit, just my 2 cents, at this point until, I get over the shock of it.

I think the writings been on the wall for a while now with Keith. I think he's more interested in living his life with his family and tending to lemons and the library. I don't think we can blame him. If his hearts not in it to be Rolling Stone Keef then why bother. Maybe it's better this way. It's been a damn good run! Personally I'd like to thank him and the band for doing it for as long as they did.

I have mixed emotions on this news (no pun intended). Since I first heard my older brother playing Get Yer Ya yas Out way back in 1970..I've followed this band...read anything and everything I could get my hands on in the pre internet days...my first show was Les Abbatoirs 6th june...my last show was Glastonbury.

I wish I'd maybe managed another gig since then but, they'd started edging a little too much to a greatest hits show for my personal tastes. Still playing well and still great shows I'm sure.

So a part of me is really sad that this news falls on us..it's the end of an era..and it's likely the start of the end. Mich and Keith are in their 80s now and whilst Mick has looked after himself, Keith hasn';t and maybe it's catching up and he's enjoying family life - he missed out a lot in this aspect through the 70's. He's earned it.

I've enjoyed the ride..haven't been to as many shows as some on this forum, but I've seen some classics...even caught the Barbarians at Knebworth. Best band ever.

Oh come on man. One show every 4 days, of course he's fed up with it.

I'm not blaming anyone, but can you blame Keith for not wanting to take 3 or 4 months to do 16 shows.

I'm with Keith. Enough's enough already. Give it a rest. As it is you're down to only 2 original Stones. They've been pushing the limits of the cash machine ever since Charlie died. If anything do a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas like most performers their age. Keith is making the smart decision. Good for him. Peace, Out.

or he doesn't wanna lose 3-4 months sitting in hotel rooms away from his family in his final years

regardless of the number of shows

Ww don't even know if family is the reason Keith can't make the tour, he might need to be home for a reason.

Even as successful as the Hackney Diamonds tour was, maybe they realized that it’s not fun without Charlie anymore.

Yes it is probable that there is some reason behind it that is not spoken about.

I doubt Keith would - even at this age - just say I cannot commit for sure, I'm hanging it up.

He would rather say if Mick can do it I can do it. As he did in 2021.

But some strong reason he can't.

No, Keith likes to work with Steve Jordan. That is not an issue.

There’s some unbelievable delusion on this site. Keith is soon to turn 82. Isn’t it time, surely?

He's been playing and singing well recently. Aging is a factor, but generally what a person does matters.

Ringo is still touring at almost 86 years old - [www.RingoStarr.com] .

Obviously health and apetite permitting... I'd like to see a different 'no stadiums'model, like a 'sit down play the blues like their heroes approach.. no tour, 'Stripped' back style residency.

Re: The Rolling Stones European Tour 2026 is off - What is next?

If touring/travelling schedule is too tough now, they can do a residency or two.

That is also not an issue.

There is something behind recent decisions that is not spoken about. Might be health, might be something else.

The gap between shows is precisely what the issue is for Mr. Richards

Can be, but then a residency or two with shows e.g. every three days resolves it ....

Keith will definitely be back on stage, maybe not with Mick though.

The greed of Stadium tours at their age is off putting, going for the big pay days pleasing mostly casual fan's, playing the same songs for them.

On so many levels it had to end, this is the way Charlie hoped it would end, he said in an interview there will be a time to stop. Charlie couldn't call time but Keith can.

There's more than one set of trucks and staging. This is a professional business with a large infrastructure and dozens of stadium tours every year now. This is a career and a living for more than a handful of people.
