Come on guys, they ONLY cancelled the upcoming tour which wasn't even official announced! Nothing more, nothing less. Nobody said they will never tour ever again! They didn't!
I will not believe they will never tour again!
Without fate, there is nothing left.

Long live the Stones!

When BV hints that way, you better believe it.

Is there a distinction to be made between touring and, say, a residency or one-off gigs?

Rolling Stones fans have been extremely lucky. Think about it. The Beatles formally called it quits in 1970. The Stones continued to record and/or tour 50+ years beyond that point. That the Stones have hung on this long is truly remarkable. Like, how much longer do you think they were gonna go on? If this is indeed the end of touring, i say thank you to what you've given the world! Your legacy is assured. As a long time fan, my request would be continue to open the vaults-including working with Abkco to release anything worthwhile from your 1960's catalogue via a thorough and quality Anthology box set similar to what the Beatles have offered.

Sad. I meet so many amazing people because of Stones. I remember dreaming about seeing them live, my first concert was in Spielberg in 2017. I thought that's it. Later shows in Prague and Warsaw - last two European shows with Charlie. "Sixty" was great - another three shows, new great people which I would never meet if not the Rolling Stones.

That is my final picture from final bow in Berlin, Waldbuhne. Last (for now I still hope) European show in August 2022. Thank you boys!

(I don't know why, but picture is not working ????)

When I logged on and saw the picture had changed, I thought it signaled a tour announcement. Wasn’t expecting this one.

Hope they are all well and play music whenever and wherever they like.

Legends. They’ve earned it.

The cancellation of the not officially announced tour does not worry me much. What bothers and scares me is the posts of BV and other trustworthy members, implying that this is the end of all tours. Do they know better? They usually did...

Touring after 2 full Summers of no live performances is a huge ask at their ages. They owe us nothing, having toured far beyond anyone's expectations
, including their own. I thank them for everything they have given us and wish them a well earned retirement.

They do not announce tours being in the planning stage, so there is nothing to report officially.

I do not have a glass bowl reading into the future, but I have been running IORR since 1980 (45 years), and I have been a fan since 1971 (54 years). And I have been to quite a few shows. They might still do shows, and they might still tour, but right now, the tour planned for next year is off.

I named this thread "The Rolling Stones Final Bows", because one year without touring might work, two years makes it harder. This thread is a tribute to their touring, remembering all the great shows, and the final bows.

May be they come up with something related to the new album, but the last one had a mini-promo show with 7 songs, off which 4 were new and 3 were old. I would not call that a tour. It is ok to be optimistic, but also to be realistic.

it will be hard to make another tour

"All Things Must Pass" - (George Harrison, 1970).
Yes , It will bv,I was rwally looking forward to seeing , this summer along with, everybody else, I'm just, really bummed right now list for words. As far as, what you said it's going to be hard to to book a big stadium gig, is right,Maybe there alot harder to deal with now as it seems evetbody is playing alot smaller gigs, I mean almost eveybody, thing's have been chaging, I've been seeing A- class band's the last couple years in, small clubs, high end club's with bars and real intimate settings, seems like the stadium thing is somewhat not the big thing it used to be. As I don't think the Stones would have a problem filling them for the most part, Just look at the last shows, they were packed, to the hilt!

GJV, I’m with you. And I thought they were done a dozen different times over the decades.

Like FredMichmershuizen, East Troy, Wisconsin, back in 1989, was my first 2 shows. I saw each later USA tour several times. Then in 2002 multiple shows in England, Ireland, France, soon Amsterdam. And about 10 shows on each USA or European tour since then. I was planning the same for 2026. The Stones were great tour guides.

Lots of great people, places and memories. Emotional day for all of us. Especially for their number one touring fan. No need to read between the lines. I prefer an optimistic outlook. No announcement was made about being done. Until death do us part!

Because we all know by now that the unofficial rumor machine helmed by folks like BV is about as official as it’s ever going to get for news like this. If you want to believe that there will be a tour because there has been no official announcement that there isn’t a tour, that is your choice but it is in spite of this news being all but assured. Currently it looks like the Stones are done. Currently, that is likely true. Might it change? Sure, but they are in their 80s and that’s why this time is different.

I completely agree with Georgelicks' message in the post about the now cancelled 2026 tour.

Realistic and pragmatic. Nothing more to add.

Everything from 2012 on has been a bonus, I think. If 2024 was the last time, we got a great extra 12 years, which includes the only 2 times I got to see them, and I’m so glad I did.

Re: The Rolling Stones Final Bows - Rumoured 2026 Tour Off

I still think it is kind of strange they do not push more for the opportunity of touring at this time in some form, given they toured pretty extensively since 2012.

I could understand that in this year it did not work logistically, but if it were so, their management could have learned from this situation and do it better this time.

Also we saw recently both Mick and Keith being active and engaged in life.

So I am wondering what the real reasons for this approach are.

No logistical problems could prevent the Stones from touring, so let's stop with this fallacious argument. Why are AC/DC and Springsteen able to do it?

Is it related to the World Cup at all? The soccer crazed Europeans will be heading to NA. Unless it's health related I would chalk it up to bad timing.
I don't get the impression that they will never perform live again unless all the information is not being made public.

It seems as simple as they said no. At least one of them. People might find that hard to accept.

Have you seen the prices for the World Cup tickets?

As a couple of other people have posted . Europeans will be in the USA next year for the World Cup . So why not a U.S. tour?

Probably the World cup alone with it's greedy ticket prices is blowing so many budgets......Not much left to go any further.

Why then is AC/DC continuing its tour, which began in 2024 in the US and South America, next year?

So it’s finally over. The challenge to set up a tour for 10 shows was too high for this unique band. It’s hard to reckon this, but it is what it is. They have entered the final stage of their lives. Honours at festivals, enjoying family life. Keith finds it enough to play 20 mns here and there at some blues theater. Mick enjoys travelling all over the world. Bless them. Something broke with the death of Charlie, the backbone. My most memorable souvenir: hearing Carol in 64, the 3 shows in Paris in 1970, and the show in Brussels in 73. Brian was a musical genius, Bill wrote some outstanding lines, Nicky was there when needed, Taylor quit when the golden musical era ended (10 years). I owe them a lot. Thanks.
