Yes hope nothing serious. It has to be important for them to cancel. It’s been a long run for the boys outlasting many bands. That is a big achievement. Sad to wake up to this awful news. I had plans to go London shows then see my friend in France. It was great seeing Stones over the years from 80s to last year. Seemed after each show I wanted more. Thank you Mick, Keith, Ronnie for all you have given us. It’s been a nice long journey. But unfortunately all things don’t last forever. Thanks for all the memories, also I met so many nice Stones fans at concerts. And the great merch. Hope this isn’t the end.

Everyone seems to be 100% equating a Tour cancellation with The End Of The Rolling Stones.

My own take is that it's more likely to be some sort of snafu. Just look at the number of other huge bands that are touring in 2026 and how long ago those tours were arranged (and on sale).

The Rolling Stones reportedly started to try to arrange a Tour rather late in the day. My guess is that because of the lack of locations/dates/gaps is that it's a question of logisitics and simply not being able to get enough dates in the right places etc.

Will they learn from this and immediately start to book up venues for 2027?

That's my take on it. snafu and not cessation?

Since 2012-2022 this method of „booking a few months in advance“ has always been well possible. But in recent years there have been far more stadium acts then ever booking far more in advance than the Stones. Combined with the World Cup next year, maybe that is part of the problem…

I first became curious about the Stones because my dad was a janitor at a secondary school in the 60s and a spate break-ins and vandalism was being blamed on ‘Dirty Rolling Stones fans.’
Then when I was 14 years old, ‘Black and Blue’ came out and I was hooked. I simply love the noise that the Stones make; I can't help it.
Now things have come full circle for me, with the apparent end of the band as a touring unit coming just as the deluxe ‘Black and Blue’ has been released.
I was at Bill Wyman's last gig in August 1990 and that has a special place in my heart as has Friday 25th August 1982 in the same venue, which was my first. 29th August 2003 was damn good too.
I joined Humphrey's team at ‘Shattered’ and wrote a number of articles for that magazine and although I never committed to the dozens of shows that the ‘hard core’ experienced, I have enough shows LPs, CD's, books etc under my belt to make me look like raving Stones nut to the average person.
But if I'm honest, listening to Earl's Court 76 has made it all too plain that the band, in its recent condition and configuration is nowhere near the level it used to reach. My last gig was Manchester 2018 where, after a dull first hour, the second half was a thrilling spectacle. But it used to be so much more than that. The rampant full-tilt beast that used to be conjured up by the interplay between Bill’s swinging bass, Charlie's back-of-the-beat timing and Keith’s incredible rhythm guitar work, left the building a while ago.
Mick is a freak of nature, and until his dying day, he will always put on a great show whenever he's on stage, but it won't be The Rolling Stones anymore.
I’ll hope for an enjoyable last album, perhaps a box set of outtakes and then I will be left with sweet memories and a treasure trove of fantastic Rolling Stones music that will accompany me wherever I go, until I take my last bow.
Thank you kindly Bjornulf, for enhancing to my listening pleasure these last few decades.

5th August 2019, East Rutherford, New Jersey. My last show was with Charlie. Seems fitting.

The Stones gave musical pleasure and inspiration to about 3 or 4 generations of people, an incredible effort. What else can we wish for? Maybe they just had enough and decided to call it quits.

At least Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood and ex members Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor are still alive, and I was lucky to see them with Mick Taylor in 1973.
That's a comforting thought to me.

I have loved the music of the Rolling Stones since I was a wee tyke and heard Honky Tonk Woman on the radio. They have been the soundtrack for my life like no other artist, no other music, and no other vibe. I saw them 10 times from Steel Wheels thru Licks (Aragon, Atlanta, Nashville!!!) and told myself no more because the shows I saw on Licks were so incredible. I did not want to see "one show too many", and I let my wife talk me into going in Jacksonville, 2019, and while the band was fine, Keith was an absolute mess.

All things must pass (George), and we're kidding ourselves if we never thought this wouldn't. What surprised me more was the announcement for a 2026 European Tour. This (apparent) cancelation was anticipated/expected (by me), because a Tour of 2-3 months with 2 guys well into their 80s and another knocking on its door playing energetic rock & roll for 2 hours a night is a stretch by my imagination.

Thanks for it all, Boys! You've earned it all - the glory, the fame, the infamity, and all that comes with it. It IS only rock & roll, but thru and from y'all, I like it, like it, yes, I do!!!

I can't express the pure joy that seeing them, approximately 30 times, has given me in my life. Of course I am beyond grateful for all the years but I am also sad beyond sad. I pray they are all well. Never to be duplicated.

They already had this situation in 2023 and early 2025 and should have learned from this. But maybe they cannot plan shows too far in advance because the insurers see certain risks due to their age.

Given that:

- We haven't had confirmation of this tour to begin with, only rumors
- We haven't had any official information from the Stones themselves
- We don't know exactly what caused the change of plans for this tour and what they're planning for the future

I believe it is entirely premature to go on a "farewell" thread and start posting our memories, like they've announced they're calling it quits.

I don't really understand how people are so ready to embark on this, so my two cents is either BV or Stonesdoug have more information they can't reveal, leading to this assumption, or this is a collective case of jumping the gun, and we've been through this rodeo one too many times to do it again - yes, even taking into consideration the fact that dudes are getting older.

I'm reluctant to jump on the bandwagon of it's-over-no-more-stones-touring until we are presented with stronger evidence of the fact. But I certainly agree that each passing year makes it much harder for them to continue. If it really is over then I'm extremely grateful for what we did get, it was far more than any of us ever had the right to wish for. The end point is inevitable, I just expected it to be for something more definitive. Maybe that will emerge in the coming days and I'll have to accept it. Until then - excuse my indulgence - I'm going to retain a little hope, against the odds it seems, that there might be something else.

Sad day though to read these posts. I wish everybody well and hope you all find peace with whatever happens.

First show WACA, Perth Feb 24,1973.

Last show Perth Arena, Perth, Nov 1, 2014.

Heaps of shows in between incl The Enmore Theatre Licks show Feb 18 in 2003.

Amazing band, amazing live. God bless ’em.

I now just hope for a new album. Though given the rumour of mixing disagreements, is that too on the back burner? Keith wanting it to sound like The Stones. Mick wanting it to sound more contemporary? Andrew Watt involved in this as well as production?

I thought I’d read it was being pressed already, so hopefully it’s not delayed/cancelled.

Rod

At least the album mix was finished and ready for pressing, according to georgelicks - [iorr.org] , [iorr.org] . Maybe this 'dispute' rumor was just an invention - [iorr.org] .

I feel bad...

The Rolling Stones are a big part of my life, and have been since I was 13 years old in 1969 when I heard the new single "Honky Tonk Women", still the greatest rock hit ever.

I went to my first concert in Aarhus, Denmark in 1973.

Over the years I've been to 45 Stones shows in 9 different countries.

Concert highlights have been:

The club show in "Circus Kroner", Munich 2003.

2 shows in Madison Square Garden, New York, 2006.

"Der Waldbühne", Berlin 2014.

I met Mick Jagger briefly at the hotel in San Sebastian, Spain, the day after the show in June 2007, he put his hand on my shoulder and gave me the big Jagger smile, thank you Mick...

I have met Ron Wood twice, in the back stage door at the Royal Albert Hall, London and in Randers, Denmark, when he was there with the Faces, we actually went for a little walk together, he was incredibly friendly...

Unforgettable moments...

In the church when I married my wife in 2002, the music was "Angie".

“Angie, everywhere I look, I see your eyes
There ain't a woman that comes close to you Come on baby, dry your eyes Angie, ain`t it good to be alive…”

I am sad, but also with a little hope...

A big and heartfelt thank you to Bjørnulf, your work in keeping us fans informed throughout the years has been invaluable!!

Very sad to hear the news of the 2026 European tour cancellation. It seems that slowly but surely the touring is coming to an end. Thank you The Rolling Stones.

There're enough reasons: venue availability, insurances, logistics, tour organisation, their private lives, etc ....

Insurance?
Age?
One of the other of the two main guys just not feeling up for it?
Lack of suitable venues? making
A satisfactory schedule impossible?

Combination of all the above?

Apparently Mick nixed 2024 at the last minute? Perhaps Keith this time?

Who knows?

They’ll likely say, at press conferences for the new album, that one was never actually planned, just talked about.

No need to speculate. The tour was getting well planned, much like the tour last year. Then they agree not to go on with it. Nobody is sick or hurt or unfriendly or whatever. It is a matter of getting more family life and less hotel life. I have been waiting for this «stop order» for years, especially when Ronnie and Mick got their new young children. And grandchildren for all of them. You may bring them all on tour, or you may live a more normal life. No sensation, no secrets. They are 80 or so plus. I am 11 years younger, and I fully understand that zig-zagging Europe on a jet this summer is not the perfect life.

Touring had been their habit since 1962, a miraculously long time, but at some point, there is time for a break. May be in 2032 they do the «70 and counting tour». Only time will tell.

Just dont make up weired reasons why they take a break, it is simply well deserved, even for us, the fans, being part of the shows and the tours, in my case since 1973.

Wow. Not the news I expected to hear this morning here from the US. Was looking forward to another go at Europe. If I’ve seen my last show, then it is what it is. Made it to a lot more than I ever expected. I’m glad to hear everyone is healthy and have hope at the possibility of a couple one-offs to promote the album. Still very bummed but thankful for all the memories

Grateful for my 4 shows so far (Nashville 2015, DC 2019, Nashville 2021 and Atlanta 2024).

It’ll be interesting to see what comes next after these scrapped tour plans. Many assume they’ll play till they drop and never announce retirement. Time will tell.
