January 1973 HIC Arena, Honolulu Hawaii. I was 12 years old. I need to go back and count, but I think I'm at around 60 shows, most recently SOFI stadium in LA in 2024.

The best was Feb 1990 - ten shows at Tokyo Dome and I went to eight of them. Same setlist every night, and I didn't care; I was in heaven.

What a great time it was.

It was an amazing run. They owe us nothing but the memories we made seeing them. I would rather wake up to this announcement rath than ****** has passed and its all over. I don't expect another tour and don't expect a residency or a one off show but if they happen I will be there. I have my memories and my recordings of the shows I attended. I am lucky I got to see many shows and met many great people. Now it is their time to do what they want, when they want and how they want. I am happily retired and totally respect their decision.

I am currently traveling but once home I will release the Ridgedale recording in honor of the conclusion of the era.

A couple of years ago, my wife and I went to Stockholm to see the last show of Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. A couple of months ago, we saw him in Singapore!

I saw the Stones first time in 1976 European Tour, with their new guitarist Ronnie Wood. It was a phantastic concert. After I saw them 1982,1990(several times), 1995,1998,2003,2007,2014,2017 and 2022.

Yesterday I got the news that the tour is off rather late - even though the Stones are not that important to me anymore, I felt some kind of sadness, since I follow them for thirtyfive years by now. After one nicht of sleep I think that it might be the right decision not to go back on the stage again. The Stones might have been far from their prime in recent years, yet they played joyful concerts. We have witnessed a famous guitarist tottering around on the stage recently, fans asked him to retire to save his reputation. It would be good, if the Stones did not end up like that.

Gutted that the intended tour is not happening but feeling blessed to have seen many great shows, traveling all over the globe with some amazing friends; it has been a great journey...

Looking forward to the new album and who knows, this might be promoted with a show or two.....

Last bow, so far....

I saw the Stones the first time in Essen Grugahalle 12.09.1965, "BRAVO Blitz-Tournee", I was 13 Years old. It was the Sunday afternoon Show. 23 Minutes and 8 Songs. We always say "It was the children Show in the afternnon. with 3 support Bands. It changed my life.

In the evening the same Show, but not with so many young childrens.
In the meantime I saw the Stones with 41 Shows.I only saw the afternoon Show

My last concert was in Berlin Waldbühne 2022. What a wonderful Show. One of my best Stones Shows ever.

Thank you Rolling Stones for wonderful 60 years live Shows in Germany, Netherland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Tchechian, Italy, UK and USA. I saw.

I do seem to remember that when the last 'tour' was 'cancelled', there were a lot of these 'goodbye Stones' posts too.
Fact is, we have been lucky enough to have them around for so long that we have all been a little spoilt. I am 43 and have been into The Stones since I was 13 - that's longer than most people get with their favourite bands, yet a lot of people have been with them for 60+ years! At 43, I categorically COULD NOT run around on a stage like Mick does, even for 20 minutes (and I am fairly fit) let alone 2+ hours.
If they don't want go on huge world tours anymore, then yes it's a shame for us that enjoyed it, but I think they have earned a rest! More than.
Let's not forget that the new album is already being/been pressed though - that is expensive in itself and so I doubt they will shelve it. Georgelicks assured us it was already happening, and Ronnie mentioned it at his recent signing, so it's entirely possible (like many here have already mentioned) that when it gets released, there will be a couple of shows like the 2012 gigs, or if Mick can no longer move like that, then maybe something like the Racket gig.
If they want to be a recording band and continue to release albums, we should embrace that. Imagine being a Beatles fan - they had to put up with that after a couple of years!
I am going to focus on the positives - a new album on the horizon and a (literal) lifetime of good memories to look back on. Can't really ask for more than that!

Just think, it all could’ve ended circa 1970 as with their contemporaries, the Fab Four. All we might’ve been left with after that would’ve been solo careers and who knows what other projects. But it didn’t and we were left with 55 more years of albums and tours. That’s how I choose to look at it. If this is it, what a great run that will never be matched. Thanks boys. Take a break…you’ve more than earned it.

Looking through old photos, I found the one below, very special pair of shows.

Gurkha soldiers taking care of local security. Very nice and friendly.

Thank you to The Rolling Stones for making almost impossible events possible.

The Rolling Stones - Tamar festival site - Hong Kong, China - Friday November 7, 2003

The Rolling Stones - Tamar festival site - Hong Kong, China - Sunday November 9, 2003

That was a fantastic time with great memories. Thank you Bjornulf, thank you Stones!

I was at these 2 shows. I was staying in the same hotel as the Rolling Stones did. I saw the whole crew except the 4 Pricipals. Sitting left of Bobby Keyes and his wife at the hotelbar. We had a Conversation about my silk (right word for it??) official Stones >> Charlie shirt and he said Charlie should see that one. I spoke to the soundmen and at the second show I got the Invitation to come up to the mixing Tower to follow the show. Great experience of course!
But till today the best experience and show was Cirkus Krone 2003, really upfront with no one in between Keith & Mick and me.
I had a similar spot on the Hollywood Hard Rock hotel 2021
And I was in front at the same spot at the last show(till now??) in Thunder Ridge Arena 2024
Yes had more of shows really in front, but these shows are one of the more special shows. And had a shows form further away too. But 92 shows (and more than 10 canceled) from October 26 of 1989 Shea Stadium New York not bad from a guy of the Netherlands. spinning smiley sticking its tongue outsmiling bouncing smiley

Okay, since I seem to be the only optimist here… What if that „ambitious plan“ of promoting the album, then releasing the album while still promoting it, while at the same time already preparing for the tour (which means three months of strict fitness workouts and voice practicing for Mick) and then doing the tour just seemed too stressful for them? What if they just want to take it step by step at their age? Focusing on the album and its promotion first, then taking a vacation from all the promotion and then maybe - if they all feel like it - doing another tour?

One thing that seems to come with age is that you can’t commit to huge, long plans anymore. You want to take it step by step focusing on one thing at a time. If the album is out, they’ve done the promotion and got on vacation again, who knows what’s going to happen. Maybe we‘ll all meet in some stadium again, watching Pierre preparing the guitars and then „ladies and gentlemen the Rolling Stones“. Might happen, might not, but this thread makes it seem like a fact that this is it.

don't feel so alone because your not

what you describe sounds reasonable

it's also possible that the one who doesn't wanna tour anymore changes his mind in a few months and they plan a fall tour somewhere or somehow by some miracle only they could pull off they tour in 2027

all of this is highly unlikely at this point true but stranger things have happened especially with this band

before people start yelling at us for being unrealistic and not facing reality even bv admited in a post a page or two ago that it's possible they tour again it's just unlikely

The end of the Stones as a touring band is getting closer every day, of course. I'm glad I got to see them live nine times. I would have loved to have added a tenth time this summer, in a beautiful city somewhere in Europe, but if for whatever reason the guys can't make it back on tour, then that's too bad, but completely understandable.

No one would have imagined 40 years ago that these guys would still be on stage in front of 80,000 fans per show in 2024. And although they've definitely shown some wear and tear over the past 10 years, the joy was still palpable, and they still put on some really great shows.

The fact that this tour has been canceled (again) doesn't automatically mean we'll never see the band live again. I know the Stones have always said they won't officially announce their retirement, but if external factors force them to call it quits, they surely won't want the story to fizzle out. And the music world around them will absolutely organize a huge event to honor them.

The obvious choice would be a grand farewell concert, or perhaps even a series. The first thought naturally goes to London...

Re: The Rolling Stones Final Bows - A Touring Tribute

I am happy and grateful. But also looking at things that were just never ment to be.

I saw my first show aged 17 in 2003. I was hooked but it was at the end of the tour. When they came around in 2006 I saw them 3 times, and in 2007 5 times.

If now was 2002/2003 I would have made sure I would have seen at least all European club gigs. This is my main regret, never seeing them in a club.

But I did see them 21 times, and I have some fantastic memories.

Amsterdam 2003: First one always special. Only time not being on the field
Cologne 2006: Front of B stage. Impressive
Amsterdam 2006: Second row FOS. Sway!
Paris 2006: One of the best gigs, amazing, at the B stage
Nijmegen 2007: Rain and a great setlist
Madrid 2007: Worst Keith but a fantastic crowd
Paris 2007: Waiting on a Friend (in a half empty stadium)
Dusseldorf 2007: CYHMK!!
Slane 2007: Wow.. Slane.. Amazing
Pinkpop 2014: Great atmosphere
Werchter 2014: Great day, It's all over Now!
Hamburg 2017: Tour start, Play with Fire and Mr D!
Dusseldorf 2017: Emotional due personal circumstances.
Arnhem 2017: Great day!
Edinburg 2018: Fantastic Trip and pit with LD
Munich 2022: Rain before, and Ruby Tuesday
Amsterdam 2022: Second try after COVID. CYHMK!
Brussels 2022: At the catwalk. Fantastic gig
Paris 2022: Even better gig
Waldbuhne 2022: WOW. Best gig of all ! And fantastic days in Berlin
NJ 2024: So special to see NY and the Stones. Fantastic experience, great gig and absolute worthy way to end the story

Was planning to add another 7 in 25. It feels like addiction and not having any perspective makes it hard. There was always hope and planning. But we are not entitled to anything. We got more than we could dream of and possibly deserved.

I am a happy man.

Wonderful post! Made me reminisce about the times I have seen them - nowhere near as many, and probably even less than a lot of people on here, but still - the amount of joy they have brought me is indescribable.

July 1995 - Wembley Stadium, London
June 1999 - Wembley Stadium, London
August 2006 - Twickenham Stadium, London
July 2013 - Hyde Park, London
May 2018 - London Stadium, London
May 2018 - London Stadium, London
June 2022 - Anfield Stadium, Liverpool
July 2022 - Hyde Park, London

December 2009 - Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings - St. Albans Arena, Hertforshire
November 2012 - Mick Taylor - Cadogan Hall, London
November 2019 - Ronnie Wood - Shepherd's Bush Empire, London

I haven't lost hope of one day seeing them again.

So i must be the only one not saddened or surprised by no more Stones tours.
I watched Mick closely last time out, it was obvious to me that the shows had become hard work for him, he got through it but it didn't look like he was enjoying it the same as before, it become an up hill battle, a chore, rock and roll is all about energy and Mick held in there for a decade longer than expected but even Mick gets old, no avoiding it.
I'm pleased we won't have to suffer watching him struggle, i guess it was obvious that what prevented Mick touring last year wasn't going to be any different this year.

Now hoping for some small scaled down solo dates or mini tours from the boys individually, not for the money and playing the same songs but just for the love and fun of it, it's about time, hopefully not too late, so let's hope for that, it's better than nothing.

Since I turned seventeen in 1981, I've shared Stones' concerts with people that I've cared about the most. Childhood friends, high school friends, my brother, my mother, my father, my wife and all three of our now adult children. Actually been to a few gigs by myself too, but never alone. Always amongst friends. I've met a few of you along the way too, having chosen IORR decades ago as my fan site.

Been feeling very nostalgic and extremely grateful for these memories.
I appreciate this site immensely and hope for the best to you all. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. What a blast.

Long live The Rolling Stones!

I rarely post in the forum, although I've been checking it several times a day for years and reading almost every message.

After yesterday's news, I felt really bad and actually tears came to my eyes.

I was really looking forward to the upcoming tour and would have loved to attend 7-8 shows.

I always put money aside for the Stones, as much as I can, and this year in particular, I saved up vacation days so I could be there next year.

My first Stones concert was in 1995 when I was 15, my second concert ever, how much it had thrilled me and since then I've been lucky enough to see the Stones live 32 times, most recently the two shows at MetLife Stadium.

No other band in the world has inspired me so much, shaped me, and given me such a sense of community as the Rolling Stones.

Every time, I thought it might be the last time I'd see my favorite band live.

I've had that feeling for ages.

In 2012, I slept with my younger brother at the airport after the London gig because I desperately wanted him to see the Stones live, and I invited him to the concert.

The only problem was, I didn't have any money left for a hotel at the time, no matter.

I canceled vacations and missed family weddings to see the Stones, no matter.

I faced a lot of misunderstanding and frustration over the years because of this passion, but no matter.

I am incredibly grateful for every moment I've been able to see the Stones live.

It's a part of my life and it's good to have a passion.

At least my wife understands me now.

The Stones are the greatest band in the world, and as long as I haven't read anything official about the band retiring, I will never give up hope that they will perform again.

And then i will try to be there.

I said Mick held in there for a decade longer than expected, that's a tribute to him.

You are seriously asking for evidence that Mick found it hard work on the last tour ?
Well Keith playing 3 songs is a bit of a give away.

To plan a tour twice and cancel the plans twice makes no sense to me, especially if it's not a health or fitness issue, so i can't help you with that.

Maybe not the end of the world but the end of the world we've gotten used to.

If it ends this way it's really a pity. I mean: without a final/farewell tour/show.
I can't help it but I get the feeling they missed the point or opportunity to say good-bye with grace and dignity.

Lovely words.

Just got back from a night out and read the headlines, to be honest I have tears in my eyes, just can’t imagine not at least seeing them one more time.
