Gutted that the intended tour is not happening but feeling blessed to have seen many great shows, traveling all over the globe with some amazing friends; it has been a great journey...
Looking forward to the new album and who knows, this might be promoted with a show or two.....
Last bow, so far....

It was an amazing run. They owe us nothing but the memories we made seeing them. I would rather wake up to this announcement rath than ****** has passed and its all over. I don't expect another tour and don't expect a residency or a one off show but if they happen I will be there. I have my memories and my recordings of the shows I attended. I am lucky I got to see many shows and met many great people. Now it is their time to do what they want, when they want and how they want. I am happily retired and totally respect their decision.
I am currently traveling but once home I will release the Ridgedale recording in honor of the conclusion of the era.

Looking through old photos, I found the one below, very special pair of shows.
Gurkha soldiers taking care of local security. Very nice and friendly.
Thank you to The Rolling Stones for making almost impossible events possible.

Okay, since I seem to be the only optimist here… What if that „ambitious plan“ of promoting the album, then releasing the album while still promoting it, while at the same time already preparing for the tour (which means three months of strict fitness workouts and voice practicing for Mick) and then doing the tour just seemed too stressful for them? What if they just want to take it step by step at their age? Focusing on the album and its promotion first, then taking a vacation from all the promotion and then maybe - if they all feel like it - doing another tour?
One thing that seems to come with age is that you can’t commit to huge, long plans anymore. You want to take it step by step focusing on one thing at a time. If the album is out, they’ve done the promotion and got on vacation again, who knows what’s going to happen. Maybe we‘ll all meet in some stadium again, watching Pierre preparing the guitars and then „ladies and gentlemen the Rolling Stones“. Might happen, might not, but this thread makes it seem like a fact that this is it.

Paris, indeed! My first time in the Pit - ruined me for anything else. But at least I kept my shirt on!

So i must be the only one not saddened or surprised by no more Stones tours.
I watched Mick closely last time out, it was obvious to me that the shows had become hard work for him, he got through it but it didn't look like he was enjoying it the same as before, it become an up hill battle, a chore, rock and roll is all about energy and Mick held in there for a decade longer than expected but even Mick gets old, no avoiding it.
I'm pleased we won't have to suffer watching him struggle, i guess it was obvious that what prevented Mick touring last year wasn't going to be any different this year.
Now hoping for some small scaled down solo dates or mini tours from the boys individually, not for the money and playing the same songs but just for the love and fun of it, it's about time, hopefully not too late, so let's hope for that, it's better than nothing.

[Your observation and your explanation might be correct or completely false. Only one objection: Would there have been so much as a tour planning at all, in case you were right?]
Let us not use a tribute thread for such a discussion!

Maybe not the end of the world but the end of the world we've gotten used to.
If it ends this way it's really a pity. I mean: without a final/farewell tour/show.
I can't help it but I get the feeling they missed the point or opportunity to say good-bye with grace and dignity.
