No need to speculate. The tour was getting well planned, much like the tour last year. Then they agree not to go on with it. Nobody is sick or hurt or unfriendly or whatever. It is a matter of getting more family life and less hotel life. I have been waiting for this «stop order» for years, especially when Ronnie and Mick got their new young children. And grandchildren for all of them. You may bring them all on tour, or you may live a more normal life. No sensation, no secrets. They are 80 or so plus. I am 11 years younger, and I fully understand that zig-zagging Europe on a jet this summer is not the perfect life.

Touring had been their habit since 1962, a miraculously long time, but at some point, there is time for a break. May be in 2032 they do the «70 and counting tour». Only time will tell.

Just dont make up weired reasons why they take a break, it is simply well deserved, even for us, the fans, being part of the shows and the tours, in my case since 1973.

But if they'd rather stay home with their families than go on tour, why are they starting to plan one? I don't understand.

Yeah that’s the thing that doesn’t fit. But 2023 was also not announced since Mick „wanted to have the summer off“. Guess they are in a position where they can just scrap plans from one day to another if they don’t feel like it

Does anybody have any info on why? I hear it's not health related so what is it? One of them retiring from touring and doesn't want to do it anymore?... If this day has come we knew it was coming.... The Rolling Stones have been 'my life'...

Thanks for everything boys!

Just for the record. The Tour planned for 2023 was pulled then on in 2024 for a reason. Everything is not public, will never be.

As for planning tours, I guess it is in their genes, then they have «stop and review» points, and then at some of these points they have the option to go on or to pull out.

That is how business works. Draft. Review. New draft. New review.

I have changed my mind many times in business, based on reports, projections, same private, you make plans, then you look at them, then you change them.

The Rolling Stones are not machines. They are humans, they may of course do their own priorities at any point in time, within the flow if contracts and all of that.

Nobody carve their entire life plan in stone.

They still have to rehearse for the alength of time for a few shows. I'd say it's unlikely. Mick will go to the World Cup. Only once every 4 years, how many World Cups will he be able to go to?

I think the Ridgedale MO show was fantastic, a great show to finish the tours.

For some, the final Stones show was the final one with Charlie, in Miami 2019.

For others, it was the two final shows with Bill Wyman as a full member August 1990 at Wembley Stadium.

Then again there were final shows with Mick Taylor too, I am so happy to have seen him with the Stones in 1973, and also during the tours from 2012 and on as a guest.

I did never see Brian Jones with the Stones, but I do still have great memories of Ian Stewart at the 100's Club.

What a band. What a story. A lifetime story.

I agree, that show was great Beautiful venue, fantastic sound, everybody was friendly, band was loose and having fun.

What a run. The greatest run in the history of entertainment.

I remember leaving the venue at my first show in the 90s, my dad said it was fun to have seen them before it was too late. They were considered too old for rock and roll. That was 30 years ago. It was unthinkable back then, that I would attend more than 50 shows. The band seemed to stop after the ABB tour in 2007. I was 100 % sure the band was history and grateful for what I had experienced. But then they resurrected for the 50th anniversary in 2012. Everything from that on has been a bonus. We have been incredibly privileged and lucky that the boys kept going and touring all the way up to 2024. And I think Keith played better post 2012 than he did in 2007. And a little toast to Mick: There has been many great frontmen - Elvis, James Brown, Freddy Mercury, Michael Jackson etc. They all had a few years when they were kings. But Mick has constantly performed at a very high level for more than 60 years. He is the greatest ever and should be remembered as such.

well we can look at this as a glass half full or half empty situation

i choose to look at it as half full

nobody is sick there on good terms with each other

i'm not sad or upset that the touring has come to an end i'm grateful they continued as long as they have

as others have said before everything after 2012 (or 2007) has been a bonus and everything after charlie died has been practically a miracle

but as bv has said they (understandably) don't wanna but themselves thru the grueling and likely at this point very painful travel involved in touring and wanna be close to there friends and family and there comfortable homes

still i doubt the love they have for performing has left them and if they can find a practicle way to continue playing live that dosen't involve months of travel and time away from there loved one they will

they need months to rehearse for a two hour show so i don't think one off stadium concerts are gonna be a thing

but maybe residencies could be an option in new york or london near enough to there homes that they can just go home after rehearsals or shows

or if it really is the end for the stones as a band that perfoms live i highly doubt that means the end of them perorming solo

both ronnie and keith have been out performing live in the last few weeks and i doubt that will stop entirley for a while

maybe we finally get that faces tour that's been talked about or ronnie goes on a proper solo tour or keith gets the winos together for a few shows or maybe ronnie and keith get together for a new barbarians type thing

and mick will find his way back onstage at some point

or with the end of touring maybe they direct there energies towards the studio and we get more then one more album out of them

or we get more solo albums out of keith, mick and ronnie

maybe the closing of this door means the opening of a new one leading to something great and wonderful for them and for us as fans

I am only 35 years old. My footprint in the Stones world is small compared to some. I've only been to four shows since 2003. I would give anything to have done more, but logistics and money weren't on my side enough times for it to happen.

Still, the Stones have been my favorite band since I was eight and the riff to Satisfaction seared its way into my brain. They are an indispensable part of my life, as they are for everyone here.

If they're truly done, I am very glad my last show was that magical second night at MetLife Stadium last year. They were on top of their game, unbelievably after 62 years. Most importantly, I got to see my hero Keith having a ball onstage. He was on fire that whole night.

I'm thankful I got to see them with Charlie. I'm thankful that Steve Jordan brought them some more time. I'm thankful for everyone who kept the machine rolling all these years. And most significantly, I am thankful for Mick and Keith meeting in Dartford on October 17, 1962.

Thank you so much, boys. You got me through life at times in ways you could never imagine. The music and the memories are immortal. I love the Rolling Stones.

If it’s true that the Stones are apparently no longer going to tour, I’m feeling deeply moved today.

When I first saw the lads in East Troy, Wisconsin, back in 1989, I truly believed it would be my one and only chance to ever see them live. I had no idea they’d just keep going — year after year, decade after decade — and that I’d be lucky enough to see them again and again in NYC and so many other cities.

At the Philly show in 2024, I noticed more than one concert-goer using a walker, and I remember thinking at the time: the Stones are going to outlive their fans. But what struck me even more was the sheer joy in that stadium. People were so happy that night. Smiles everywhere. We’ve all been incredibly blessed to have shared in this journey for so long.

Every day, I’m playing their music constantly — on every device, in my car, at home — all the time. Their music is the soundtrack of my life, literally. And I will also treasure seeing 'At The Max' on the big big screen this past Wednesday, exchanging selfies via text with other fans in other cities, who were also out that night for the concert movie. It moved me more than I expected. I honestly want to go back one more time tonight, just to experience that 10-minute version of Satisfaction again. "Can you hit me one time ... two times ..."

However this chapter ends, I’m grateful beyond words. What a ride it’s been. I'm in tears as I type this.

I am sorry to hear the rumored tour will not happen. The Rolling Stones have been part of my life since the early 70's. I have seen 65 shows in 15 countries, including the free show in Havana in 2016. I was also lucky enough to see the show in Ridgedale. A nice venue by the way.

The last 6 of 7 trips to Europe were to see the Stones. It was a great excuse to travel, every 4th day a concert in a new country. I probably went to 8-10 countries in Europe because of the Stones.

One of the best parts of traveling to see the Stones is meeting so many people from around the world who share a similar interest. This is one thing I will really miss. I am grateful to have met so many nice people.

And most of all, thank you BV. You have shared a large part of your Stones life with us, Your efforts on IORR are greatly appreciated. Tour planning, for me, was so much better with you and the Stones fans offering suggestions and insight on various cities and countries.

Thank you to everyone.

I was thinking about it a little bit more and something does not add up. IF the album is done and the cancellation is not health related then it does not make sense to cancel everything while booking process was underway. Why release an album these days and not play live? Sure, it happened in the past (IORR, ER) but those were different times, bands made more money on albums than touring and they released an album every 1-2 years so if they skipped one year of touring it wouldn't make a big difference. But now? Insurance, costs, logistics? Yeah, but it is not a reason to cancel all touring but to change strategy: residency, smaller venues, etc.

So my conclusion is: either the album is not done yet (some unexpected delays), or it IS health related. Maybe not them personally, but some family members etc. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense to start booking process and then scap it all.

It only feels strange because we just arrived here. In reality, it’s a perfectly normal thing to be over 80 and wanting to slow down.

That said, I really hope they do release an album to close it off, and if you’d indulge me for a few more seconds, I’d really love for them to do a last show in London. Toned down kind of thing a bit like Nirvana Unplugged. Funeral like. And in a small place with max. 500 people.

Well, if there are no more shows I certainly am glad I saw them in Vancouver and got to bring my kids to their first Stones concert even if it was my last Stones concert. I am mildly relieved I don’t have to figure out how I was going to fit a European concert trip into an already busy summer. Alas, maybe they will announce a one off show somewhere and I’ll scramble to see if I can make it but like everyone is saying-be happy you got to see them when you did. A new album sounds likely still and if not that surely we’ll have more bootlegs and re-issues. It can’t go on forever. It’s only rock and roll….

New Barbarians album and tour?

Very strange, for some reason before I saw this news I woke up thinking, wouldn't that be cool if there was a New Barbarians tour?

And a buddy of mine who I think I've attended 11 shows with over 38 years popped in last night and we cracked open a bottle of Crossfire Hurricane.

Premonition perhaps?

If this really is the end of touring for The Stones then it is surely a sad day for anyone who enjoys music. In my opinion, there is not another band who gave it their all for their performances. I saw them last year in NJ, my 4th time seeing them live and my dads 6th time. There will never be another band like them. They've brought so much joy into my young life. I really hope they give a few last performances and one last album. Thank you to everyone I've interacted with on here so we can all share our love for this amazing band together. I hope that never ends even beyond their existence.

I don't know anything about booking tours for huge acts, but perhaps it is as simple as not being able to find a promoter who can guarantee the Stones the number they want? As some have posted previously, it can't be easy making a profit on a 15ish date tour with 4-5 nights of down time between shows.

We should all be grateful that we witnessed the greatest band in Rock'n'Roll history.
Consider ourselves lucky to have lived during this time.

That splashes on a stone
Our love is like our music
Why is it here, and then it's gone?

I've got no expectations
To pass through here again"

I will not believe they will never tour again!
Without fate, there is nothing left.

Long live the Stones!
