To be honest, I like reworked versions of old songs. Gives them a bit of life. It doesn't take anything away from the originals, and it offers a fresh perspective of songs we've all heard a million times before.
Particular curiosities/favourites of mine are;
The Soulwax Remix of You Can't Always Get What You Want
The Zed's Dead Remix of Gimme Shelter
'Determination' by Bone Thugz-n-Harmony (sampling Heaven)
and the Dr. Dre Remix of Miss You which I actually prefer to the original.
The majority will hate these, but y'know - you can't win 'em all.

I purposely avoided listening to the Soulwax Remix until today - it's really funny yet it's probably what the sound of vertigo is.
Same with Zed's Dead Remix of Gimme Shelter. Just ignored it. Listened today. Wow that's really janked up!
'Determination' by Bone Thugz-n-Harmony didn't know about. That's really good.
Dre - of course.
SFTD, eh, Fatboy Slim's is drab. The Neptune remixes are way more interesting. Not that I needed one more reason to listen to that song ever again but I got the single and quite dug the Neptune versions.

you're completely right: it's terribleQuote

The Tongue is there, it is a deal with the owner of the tongue (Stones), the owner of "Satisfaction (Klein), and most probably a deal all of them are happy with. The promoting e-mail sent out end Nov. came from RollingStones.com.
Not my cup of thea, but I am not supposed to say so.
