To be honest, I like reworked versions of old songs. Gives them a bit of life. It doesn't take anything away from the originals, and it offers a fresh perspective of songs we've all heard a million times before.
Particular curiosities/favourites of mine are;

The Soulwax Remix of You Can't Always Get What You Want
The Zed's Dead Remix of Gimme Shelter
'Determination' by Bone Thugz-n-Harmony (sampling Heaven)
and the Dr. Dre Remix of Miss You which I actually prefer to the original.

The majority will hate these, but y'know - you can't win 'em all.

SFTD, eh, Fatboy Slim's is drab. The Neptune remixes are way more interesting. Not that I needed one more reason to listen to that song ever again but I got the single and quite dug the Neptune versions.

I only found out about Determination fairly recently too - it just came up on youtube as a recommendation while I was listening to Heaven, but I really like that one too!

The Neptunes ones are good too.

There is also a Moby remix of I'm Free which is pretty good - nothing special, but it's quite pleasant to listen to.

During the late 90's, Fat Boy Slim was incredibly popular, here in the U.K. You don't seem to hear those hits - at least I don't - whilst out-and-about. It could be because they've dated terribly.
