The Time Trip series. Although it could be frustrating at times with all the duplicate tracks. Scorpio could’ve easily trimmed the 5 volumes down to 3 at most. But overall an excellent series.

Euroep '73, VGP 011, 5th Edition.

Brussels 1973 with the 3 tracks from Wembley, in correct running order, in best sound.

Nothing beats this release.

Nasty Music: A combination of Brüssel and London 1973 and New York City 1972 (All Down The Line-Bye Bye Johnny-Love In Vain-Sweet Virginia). Most played record by me in the seventies.
Hampton 1981. Most played record by me in the eighties.
Atlantic City 1989. Most played record by me in nineties.

If it's live then Welcome To New York 1972 or my own Wembley Empire Pool Sept 8 1973 early show. They were never slicker than on that 72/73 world tour.

For Studio - Fully Finished Studio Outtakes - unimaginably brilliant quality

I never acquired a huge collection of bootlegs. The first I purchased - quite early on into my fandom - was the well known Static In The Attic. Other purchases included Fort Worth 1972 and Sacramento(?) 1999. I bought these from local record fairs. I was fortunate to be gifted - by fellow Stones fans - some of the absolute classics: Brussels, Perth 1973, etc.

I wonder what source they used. Maybe they sourced from the bootleg? Anyone have one for sale?

One thing that annoyed me was that their official live recordings for a long time were only 1-lp (cd). I think that spurred the bootleg business.
Real fans wanted full concert renditions not half of it. (And between 1969 and 1977 they didn't release any live albums.)

Thirty-odd years ago, a friend of mine lent the original 2-vinyl album to me.
AFAIR the source was a cassette tape of dry soundboard recording. Hiss noise was rather distracting.
As for the Some Girls tour bootleg, I’d prefer TSP’s Handsome Girls 3-cd box.

Great cover though.

i have that exact one in the photo and i gotta say the cover art is really fantastic as is the back cover

supposedly it was sourced from a cassette ripped right out of the soundboard by someone in the audience when the sound guy turned his back (so it's not sourced from a twenty eighth generation tape or something like that)

as such it's not a multitrack recording so boots of later shows from the tour that were professionally recorded and used for radio broadcasts have better sound

but this one is still very clear and raw it's stereo and the whole band is very audible

mick is a little loud in the mix but not overwhelmingly so

occasionally the left channel goes out for about a second but it's infrequent and you get used to it

it's a double album of almost the whole show and fades out about three minutes into street fighting man

another thing on a lot of these soundboard tapes the audience is basicly inaudible but not here they may not be particularly loud but there there and it really adds to the atmosphere

this is in my opinion a very good bootleg of a rough and raw show that i can't recommend enough

here's a link to a vinyl rip of it

I have the Scorpio Capitol Connection 2cd. One of my favorites too. Is it just a copy of Garden State? It says Garden State on the discs and if I recall I think I remember hearing some pops in the recording. It has a pretty unique cover also. Check it out.

Judging from the credit, looks like Street Fighting Man (incomplete and fades out) is edited out on this one.
