OT: RIP D’Angelo (1974-2025)

So shocked. One who could have filled the void Prince left behind had the drugs and health issues not hampered his career. Another genius who is gone without fulfilling the potential.

Saw him live only once, Manchester Apollo 2015, which I am deeply grateful for.

RIP Michael Eugene Archer AKA D’Angelo

That is really a shock, I´ve seen him twice, fantastic shows.
I always hoped for a new album and to see him live again, what a loss.

I feel a little ignorant, as I had never heard of him until yesterday. Very sad for someone to pass away at such a young age thouhg.
I am going to check out his music!

It’s easy because he released only three studio albums and one live album (in physical form) in his over 30-years’ career span — Brown Sugar (1995), Voodoo (2000), Black Messiah (2014) and Live at the Jazz Cafe (1998).

What a waste of a colossal talent.

Last night I played Black Messiah and mourned his passing.
The Charade is my favorite song.
