If they are all fit and healthy and determined to do shows regardless of making millions of dollars they could still perform. We might of reached a moment of truth. Is the joy of performing greater than the joy of making lots more money???

A friend has told me that Hendrick Mulder (who is apparently very reliable) has said that the Stones had a falling out during the mixing of the new album.
I hadn’t heard of him until today

Richard Fox is saying it's been confirmed to him by two of his sources. Still want to hear Bjornulf's take on this.

I’ll be talking to one of the band members tomorrow.

BV writes: „ The Tour seems to be off, as of Dec 14, 2025“

As always as nothing was announced we will not hear about any reasons for not touring. Except there is one final show. But I doubt it.

Hey Harlem Shuffler, maybe you shouldn't reveal your source by clear name.

Very sad news. I knew it was coming some day but hoped we hadn’t run out of road quite yet. I’ll also miss seeing some of the folks I’ve met over the years. Damn.

A disagreement of a kind, I guess. It is a shame if this is the reason for the tour cancellation.

Apparently, it happened during the mixing process. I assume it’s album-related.

Hadn't Universal already pressed vinyls?!

I would advice people NOT to spread false rumours. They pulled the tour off. As simple as that. When you are in the 80’s, and you have been touring for 62 years, it is perfectly ok that you have the right to signal to management that you are not ready.

We have seen them live for more than three generations. Very different from say Beatles fans, whose band wrapped it up in the 60’s, from my memory.

Right now we are disappointed, but honestly, we have had our chances to see them live in seven - 7 - decades.

May be they find a way to play live again, but probably not. We will see. I am just grateful for all the great moments they have given us, and still, a new album is still due!

Why does everyone seem to be assuming that because they cancelled this particular tour it’s all over now?

Most likely their touring days are over. But that does not mean they have abandoned live activities entirely. One-off gigs, residencies etc.

At this very moment I feel a number of folks here have gone too sentimental hearing about another news of cancellation in a row and talk as if this was the end of it all.

It’s not over till it’s over.

Because the people who know are hinting this way. Opposite to 2025.

It’s always been the case in this forum as long as I‘ve been here

As it was in 2025 when the tour was off.
As in 2023 when the tour was off (supposedly „Micks leg“)
As in 2021 when Charlie died.
As in 2020 when Covid hit.
As in 2019 when the tour was postponed because of Mick‘s heart valve replacement.
As in 2017 when the summer tour was off because of Ronnie‘s lung cancer
As in 2014 when L‘wren Scott committed suicide
As in 2013 when they played Hyde Park as the final concert, supposedly their final shows ever

Don’t ever write off the Stones, that’s what I‘ve learned

They didn't only cancel this particular planned tour. They cancelled 2023, 2025 and 2026. Let's be realistic - If they don't find a way to tour this and next year in Europe, how should they be able to tour in 2027?

Maybe they will just abandon the idea of touring Europe at some point. I bet there would still be a huge demand in touring South America after ten years. Provided that they want it…

I don’t think location is the issue; more likely touring in general.

In 1982 they said - this is their last tour! Anyhow, life goes on and we (and even our grandkids) will have plenty of (re-)releases from The Rolling Stones. There is (live) material worth another 100 releases at least. And we have great memories from Rolling Stones concerts.

In 2025 the issue was supposedly logistics although no one really confirmed it. As for what it is this time, it’s not really clear. Could be logistics or just that the will of touring is not there. But we are supposed not to be speculating, I get it… but it’s a difficult day

It’s pleasing to read there’s some realists amongst us. As the day continues, the usual - but much loved - suspects will enter the fray, with proclamations about how they can still continue performing into their 90’s.

Well nothing about the Stones career was realistic to begin with. Realistic was that their success would last a few years after having some hits with Satisfaction and Paint It Black

No one here even knows for sure if this is age-related. Except a few insiders who aren’t allowed to spill the tea.

I’m afraid to say your comment is hardly realistic here.
I don’t think anyone on this board will talk like the boys can continue performing into their 90s, even the most optimistic ones.

Exactly that.Mick even thought that himself at the time. This is what he told Michael Parkinson on UK TV in 1965 grinning smiley
