This is what scares me. I was never so close to achieve my dream to see them, I just wish to know if there is still a chance to attend one RS concert.

Tough news to wake up to.

Tough to go to bed to as well ....

Maybe they don’t want to tour anymore or do a residency like The Eagles.

Perhaps it’s just time, you know? They’ve exceeded everyone’s expectations countless times over and, well, life is precious; especially when elderly and having a young family.

I don't know which is worse.. hearing that the tour is off, or just simply being a Cleveland Browns fan.

The Rolling Stones are the only band that cancelled an expected tour twice in a single year.. They are and will always remain unique.

But this really hits hard. I think the era of the Stones as a touring band is coming to an end. I’m glad I flew to the United States last year to see them live one more time.

I’m glad I had the opportunity to see them last year 3X bringing to a total 23 X. I won’t forget these shows ever. As long as they are healthy makes me happy.

Having moved to Europe two years ago I was so excited at finally being able to follow a tour around Europe and living here at the same time. I am so so sad at not having one last tour here but have to thank the boys for the approximately 90 shows that I have been at! The best times of my life. The memories will never die.

Thank you, Rolling Stones. 10 fabulous shows attended; each one, unique and special. Giants Stadium 2002 - Hyde Park 2022. A twenty-year span.

We have the new album to look forward too, though I wonder whether that’ll now be delayed. See bv’s most recent post in that thread.

Sad news to wake up to indeed. You are always waiting for the next one right. Thought it was all over in 25. But then we got new info and started dreaming. Last saw them in 22. Feels like ages ago now. If this indeed is it I do hope that they will continue with other creative stuff. ATM I do hope everyone is feeling alright.

The tour is cancelled.

It’s a shame that The Stones are apparently going out with a whimper and not with A Bigger Bang. But it’s been a great ride. Thanks for everything to The Stones. The soundtrack of my life for the past 63 years. God bless.

I think it is important to note this is a cancellation and not a postponement. Personally, I don’t believe it to be in the Stones’ style to ever offer a ‘farewell’ I do suspect that they will - and have - quietly stepped-away from touring. In its entirety unexpected, considering their ages and, surely, greater priorities in life. A new album will hopefully be with us soon. who knows? Perhaps there will some ‘live’ activity in its promotion; something along the lines of their sit-down with Fallon at the Hackney Empire, perhaps.

Not having an explicit farewell concert, but simply not being there anymore, is a good thing, I think. The Stones have already stretched the laws of nature incredibly far. It's simply over now, and that's okay.

It was "Frankfurt 1990 - Gelsenkirchen 2022" for me. What a run!

Just the sun and the moon left then... Inevitable but so sad.

It’s pleasing to read there’s some realists amongst us. As the day continues, the usual - but much loved - suspects will enter the fray, with proclamations about how they can still continue performing into their 90’s.

There’s no official announcement that the band are finished touring.Residencies might be the way forward.It’s not the end until they announce it.We still have a new album to look forward to.Pretty sure they will do more shows in the future.

What Stargroover said. There are too many maudlin and introspective posts going on. The show ain’t over ‘till the skinny fella sings.

It's not even a cancellation. Holds were placed on stadiums. And released. It happens far more than you might imagine. There were proposed tours in 1996 and 2008 that never happened. Maybe we will find out what happened some day but I am willing to guess someone just didn't want to.

I kinda like the idea of the last word being one more album instead of Satisfaction live in Munich.

They’ll have to answer the question when promoting the album. Gonna be strange to see vulnerability… but yes, time / age…. It’s been magnificent
