are they gonna use CGI to airbrush Bill out??
I was BS when they removed Bill from the Rarities CD!!..............typical Jagger jealousy.

I saw this in the IMAX theatre in Bradford - England in 1992 during a break in radiotherapy - it was a much needed boost at the time - put a spring back in my step.

This movie was released in 1991.
The world has changed an awful lot since then! The Internet existed, but the World Wide Web had only just been invented. Home video was mainly VHS, but DVD was coming and there was nothing at all remotely like BluRay or 4k.
IMAX movies were a quality step up from the very best movies then available. 72 frames per second and much larger film. (That stuff has to be moved around by fork lift truck in projection rooms.)
So The Rolling Stones were giving their fans the very best technology available for a specially shot concert movie from the game changing Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle era.
For the time it was frigging awesome!!!!! Give them credit for that.
Perhaps there are now technically "better" concert movies, but this one takes some beating.

Crazy to think it was shot in 70mm IMAX, equivalent to 18K in digital resolution.

Yes but I doubt they'll show it on IMAX reeles. It's remastered so probably the same digital transfer that was done for the Blu Ray release which is already very good.

I guess it's from a new 4K or maybe 8K restoration.

maybe the original film stock has been re-scanned to fully digitise it?

Apart from the IMAX premiere, they will release it on vinyl, 4k, etc.
