Poasted by "andrestonesplanet"on Sept-11, 2025:

Sadly Rolando passed away last friday. Rolando was a big friend of mine. I knew Rolando many years ago on IORR messageboard.I met him in 2014 (in Lisbon) and 2017 (in Paris) but we were very good friends in the last 25 years. Hours and hours of chats by email, Facebook and WhatsApp.

Rolando was a happy person. He wrote books about the Stones and about Xutos & Pontapés (a famous portuguese rock band). Rolando wrote a literature book, too. Ah he played bass in a garage rock band in Portimão (his home town).

I could spent hours and hours and hours telling Rolando´s stories. He was a funny guy and I had many funny moments with him.

Another goodbye to another good friend.

IORR Editor addition:

My book about the Rolling Stones with exclusive texts from Jagger, Richards, Charlie and Ronnie (Posted by Rolando Rebelo on IORR June 26, 2012)

Very sad news, and far too young.

I met Rolando in Lisbon in 2007, and a few of us hung out together in the couple of days before the show: Paulywaul, Gazza, and others. Maybe 'Beast' too.

Great memories!

RIP Rolando.

As mentioned in another thread, really sorry to hear about this guy passing. Makes me wonder if we could have been friends. In the spirit of this idea I would like to post my phone number. If you live here in Portugal and looking for a Stones Fan friend drop me a what's app, SMS or call if you like. Would like to avoid hearing about people I might of been able to be friends with. #963124768.

I recognize the name and face, but don't believe I ever met him. Sad to hear of his loss though. May he rest in peace.

RIP Rolando.

I was there as well, with Paulywaul and Gazza.
Here I have a photo of us in Lisboa, in the day of the show (2007-06-25). Picture quality is poor, but the Soul is great!
