legend!...gutted on Saturday when I read the news. We all grew up imitating his iconic stance resting on the hockey stick....what an incredible goalie...walked away at 31 at his peak.

He was a legend. Left hockey to get his law degree, later became President of the Toronto Maple Leafs, a Member of our Federal Parliament and a Cabinet Minister. Acclaimed author of several books. Will always be remembered for being in goal for the last (winning) game of the Canada - Russia hockey series in 1972. I lived behind Maple Leaf Gardens for a decade and passed him once when he was entering the side door to the Hot Stove Lounge…VERY big man. In all respects. RIP.

Great keeper, and a well spoken, intelligent guy. Class act all the way!
RIP Ken

Aside from his excellence as a goaltender for the Montreal Candiens in the six Stanley Cup championships he was the goalie for, his book, THE GAME, is, but more likely so the best ever, the best book written about sports, or specifically, a sport.

Subjective, yet at the time, eh, "out of the box".

The book would've never happened without his experience in the NHL.

THE GAME is a gift to humanity.

Ken Dryden is a great inspiration to anyone who seeks to attempt excellence in more than one endeavor in a lifetime.
