OK...I do hope I don't create any agony, but in saying so, this just might for some of us!

While we wait for the new album to land, I thought maybe we could try something completely useless and meaningless, which is to select our favourite song on Exile on Main Street.

How we would do this, is by picking your least favourite from the tracklist. We'll tally it up once a week on the Saturday - and drop the least favourite, when a new round of voting for your least favourite amongst the remaining tracks will ensue.

Eventually (18 weeks?), we determine the collective favourite - last song standing.

SO, please list the one song you'd like dropped from the tracklist.

I think the Stones must be unique in how so many people who all identify as fans of the band can disagree so dramatically as to the relative quality of the actual music. I just don't think a consensus is possible.

I Just Want To See His Face.

That's easy. Some others are easy to choose as well.

Although filled with many great songs it's certainly easier to reduce it to a single LP than down to its best song, which is beyond daunting, really, because my gut said Rocks Off.

Torn and Frayed

I think I've found a way to make things easier when you're picking. You pick your least favourite per side. Then, you're down to your final 4, you pick your least fave from that group.

Mind you, it's still painful.

I Just Want To See His Face - I listened to this yesterday

I'm sorry but I can't pick one. They are all good. Now, if somebody picks Stop Breaking Down, your gonna get me upset! lol

Ventilator blues.

It's really hard but I just want to see his face- has such a cool strange vibe that I find it kind of irreplaceable. That's why I went with
Ventilator blues.

The Stones have a lot of songs like this one.

I’d have to say I Just Want to see His Face, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like that song or that it is a bad song, it is simply my least favorite song on such an incredible album of great songs.

EOMS is easily the most dogmatic album of their discography for a lot of people.


Gonna speed up the selection to the second sone - Sweet Black Angel.

Just as with I Just Want To See His Face, it's filler. Not sure if there's an order of likeness, or lack therein, in regard to the elimination process.

Exactly my attitude to such an approach. Especially for an album as EXILE ON MAIN STREET.

I get it. And as I said, this is a thoroughly worthless exercise meant to help while away the time while we wait for the new album. That said I'm curious what comes out on top of this completely unassailable album.
